makes me recall my Tiger Cruise....every sailor (read that as EVERY sailor) I spoke with when we pulled into Norfolk was complaining about the whites they had to wear. You can imagine a carrier's hanger deck after 7 months at sea and the problems the crew had trying to stay clean and trying to not touch ANYTHING!!!! They look nice, but what a pain!!

Thats why I send tide to go in every box I ever send to a ship sailor. (wink)

Yes, the Dress Whites are very nice looking and is an uniform that disting wishes the Navy from the rest of the 5 branches of the DoD Service; however, keeping them clean is another story and why I never wanted to hang out in HI, since their uniform of the day was white year round. Particularly, since the clothing allowance is not enough to cover the cleaning bill nor the extra replacements one has to have on hand. yet, my son mentioned at GL he was able to pick up uniforms at a used uniform shop on base for pennies on dollar. So he could keep his issued set for good and inspections. Glad to hear you had fun and you will quickly realize there is much learn.

Early bird gets the sailor lol slept some but in a hurry to get there and pick nat up for the day.We are only bout ten min from gate so couple rts and bingo.I still can picture PIR in my mind incredible and nat last nite when we dropped him off couldnt wait to tell his shipmates wht all he ate lol im sure today will be really special for him yesterday he had to wear his whites and had to be careful not to get them dirty or stained from food but today he will wear camos and t shirt so wont be so bad and can wear swimming trucks if we go to six flags or the pool here in hotel so itll be better.he has to make breakfast call then we can pick him up and he dint have to pull duty till sun nite so it worked out just rt if they have to pull duty it takes bout 4hrs outta of yr day with them .....well ill say more when i get back >>>>Tim

Well you sound about like what I expected. It really is something. Wait until you get the DVD and can play it over and over. Justen used it as a teaching tool for his best buddies 4 year old when his Dad went into the Navy. The Little guy got to go to PIR and see his Dad. When he came home he said Grandma Crystal the drums are so noisey and you can't turn them down like on TV.
