Hi everyone, my name is Cathie and I am from Michigan. My son is a AWS2, stationed in Norfolk, but currently in Bahrain. He is an aircrewman on the Navy's largest helicopter and he loves it!

Cindy, Is it not wonderful to have something so positive to look forward to?Justen did tell me three things he wants. 2 special breakfast and 1 dinner. I am so anxious. When he was not taking leave until new years I felt just glad to know he would be back in the states

my daughters been in over 2 and she says you wean out your true friends fast. her first time back was after 16 months in ME, she didn't leave only unless, we were at work. but boy was i exhausted when she went back 10 days later, our house was always full, relatives mostly but some friends home from college just moved in. but it was like that since her jr. year in HS, just we're older now and not use to it. we're use to just the 2 of us. and the noise level! wow.

I am sure he will spend some time with his friends. But 3 years into this enlistment he spends more time with his parents and cousins. He got over the lets go out and celebrate thing after the 1st year. His friends invite us with him most times. Maybe because all but 2 have been in the military. I find it much like when I came home as a young sailor.
