Navy Dads

I didn't see a discussion yet for this class, hope I'm not stepping on someone's toes by starting one.

My son Michael reported in for the class on Sunday, they were advised that it wasn't going to start until Tuesday, because of hurricane Irene.  I hope everyone made it there okay.

We have already made reservations and scheduled flights to go to graduation in November, Does anyone know if these will be pushed back because of the delay in starting?  What will their schedule and activities be?

Son called his wife last night. He's 1st week in 03-12. He was really down, home sick and sick to his stomach. Wish I could do something to help him through this. Writing letters encouraging him but I'm sure he hasn't gotten any of them yet. When do they start getting their mail?

Has anyone else heard anything from their LO's?  How are they doing?  Are they regretting everything as of now?

GANavyDad,  thanks for the reply. I knew this was going to be tough for him.  I didn't realize how tough it was going to be for his wife, mom, and me.  It would be easier if it didn't seem that he was so miserable.  I been there and done that but it's been many years ago.  Hope you'll all pray for all of the OC's that they get through this.

If anyone is interested, we also have a family support site on Facebook for Navy OCS class 03-12.

here is the link:   http://www.facebook.com/groups/28AUG2011/

I saw some pics of an ocs class.  some had a green reflective belt on a few had an orange belt on.  What does that mean..

Found out that the green belts mean they passed IN-PFA, orange means they didn't.

private message deployment schedules only please...please do not post in public areas

Do you have access to any deployment info?  Such as when will the USS New York LPD-21 deploy next.  My son is trying to get on that ship.  How about LSD-43 and LSD-48, they are contenders.  Thanks
