Our daughter K was not able to complete the final multi exam, with two shots at it the week of May 2nd. She would have been the 31st female to join the ranks of Rescue Swimmers. We were going to the graduation on the 5th, but we joined with her Dad and his significant other to provide family support instead. We did learn that she definately raised the bar in performance for females entering the program in the future, and also for a number of men. Her name is posted at one of the gyms nearby as the highest number of pull ups accomplished to date by a female...... 16! I know I couldn't do that many!
We learned that she will be able to move to a dry aircrew position, and is in the process of deciding which one, which we believe will be Flight Engineer on a P3 Orion. Whe will class up for A school in P'cola, and will finish training in Jacksonville, FL, land maybe a few locations in between. It's a tough school too, much to learn about all the systems on the plane. Her mother and I are loooking forward to supporting her in this new endevor. K has become close to a new RS who finished the program a few weeks befor her scheduled graduation, and his in now on his way to San Diego for A school, so we will definately be following this forum to stay informed about what he may have in store.
Best of luck to all your Rescue Swimmers!

My wife had a chance to follow up with a few of her instructors the final week, we had gone to P'Cola for the graduation that didn't take place. They said just what your son said, she set the bar for many females that will follow her, even those few that will make it in the future will not achieve what she did, save for being able to pass ALL of the rescue evolutions. We are very proud of her, she would have been only the 31'st felale to make it since the early '80's. She is now training for Flight Engineer on the P3 Orion, A school starts Monday.
