Navy Dads

Our son, Cody, went to boot camp in June.  After the long difficult road he graduated from Aviation Rescue Swimmer School on November 15th.  He is waiting to start his "A" School and upon completion will be headed to Jacksonville, FL.  As you all know, we are so very proud and thankful our son will get to do what he dreamed of when he decided to join the Navy.  Please excuse me while I brag a little...ok...a lot.  :)

Cody graduated college with a degree in the Arts.  He wanted to do animation graphics for movies and video games.  Once he saw how much graduate school would cost, he went back to his early dream of joining the Navy (his grandpaw and great uncle were Navy Vets).  At boot Camp in Great Lakes, he painted each group's flags and all were included in their group photos upon graduation.  He also design his ARS squad's patch at NAS and wrote their "chant" which they recited at their graduation in the Blue Angel's Atrium at the Aviation Museum on base at NAS.  It has been a tough road for him.  His mom and I could not be prouder.

HOOYAH Cody and congratulations Dad ..... I hope to hear more about Cody in the future !  .... Jacksonville or Mayport ?

Thank ya'll and yes he will be in Jacksonville once he finishes "A" school.  He starts "Awat" school next Wednesday.  Says it is a basic mechanic's class.

Congrats to you Scott and your son!  Awesome!  Enjoy the ride, because it will be remembered for the rest of your lives!  Hooyah!

Congrats to you and your son. He still has a ways to go but I'm sure he will do just fine.

Congrats, All the hard work and push and pulls paid off !

Thanks everyone! Cody is in "A" school, started a little late due to they had too many scheduled the first class. He has been able to come home on weekends when he doesn't have watch. So he has been able to see his baby daughter about three times a month. Last we text, he was 4th in class of 11. Said its hard, but he's learning a lot. Once "A" school is done he will go to Jacksonville, FL. So he will still be fairly close to us (Southeastern Louisiana). His mom is already planning what weekends we will be going. Sorry so long with update.
Hooyah!
