First of all, our thoughts and prayers go out to these brave crewmembers and families for a rapid recovery. I just forwarded this thread to my son. I talk to him all of the time about stuff like this. Flying around in a helicopter is so much fun that complacency can set in. Things will go wrong every so often and when they do, it's the ones who do the right things that have the greatest chances of survival. That is why the Navy only selects the very best for aircrew. Attention to details is what we dads have preached over and over. Let's hope and pray that our kids stay on top of their game , and that hopefully they are ready just in case.
Thx Danny ....Chris is accounted for ^5
MH60 crashed on a training flight in San Diego last night, all four crew survived a hard landing, extent of injuries unknown, prayers to them and their families. I heard the words Navy helicopter crash on the news and almost jumped out of my skin, ugh.......
Well done for your sons Brad and Logph, good news in time for the holidays. My son Tom just did his first DLQs (Deck Landing Qualifications) on a guided missle cruiser off the coast near Jax, he said it was fun landing on a moving ship at night and then said he was hungry and wanted to get something to eat, somethings never change. Hooyah
Brad, Congrats to you and your son. Bravo Zulu on a job well done. I am sure that the RSS staff is even better than before by the addition of Garrett. My son, Robert is at the opposite end of the spectrum. He is finishing FRAC at HSC-2 Norfolk, and is awaiting orders to his first duty station. He should find out by the time he gets back from Christmas leave. Just want to let you and everyone else know that I have used a lot of your remarks to motivate him and to keep him focused...all the way back to when he was in boot camp. Thanks fellow dads for your contributions. Keep them coming!!
