It is with great joy that I can now announce that my son Garrett, having served out in Japan with HS-14 for almost 4 years and is coming to the end of his 6 year commitment, has re-enlisted for 4 more years and has accepted orders to return in February as a RSS instructor!  The student now becomes the teacher, and the best part for us is he comes back home to Florida!  While Pensacola is many hours from Orlando, we are happy to make that drive!  It gets better, as he is coming home Monday so he can travel with family to Quantico, VA to attend his sister's graduation from the US Marines Officer Candidates School as a 2nd Lt. and to have the honor in the ceremony of the first enlisted to salute her on Friday Dec 14.  What a wonderful December to remember in our family.  I hope that you all enjoy the Christmas season this year.

Thanks Wayne, he's really living the dream right now, he's got about 200 flight hours and keeps piling them on with a lot of training.

Hi All, a quick update from my son Tom, he passed his wings board the other day which means he finally gets his wings.  It's been a long time coming, he went to boot camp in April of 2011 and then proceeded through all of the schools.  The wings board is an oral interview that last about 1.5 to 2 hours where the AW gets grilled on everything, about 150-200 questions.  Get more than 4 or 5 wrong and you have to try again later.  Attention to detail, Attention to detail, Attention to detail.  HOOYAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All,

My son signed his contract for air rescue.  He leaves for boot camp on February 4th.  However, if he improves on some of his PST scores the senior chief will move him out sooner.  Thanks for all the advice.
