I'm lucky I live in Orlando , It's only a 6 hour drive . We are looking forward seeing Chris again in 5 weeks for his graduation of RSS . Fingers crossed .

Danny, good comments and after following you and other dads comments, I totally agree about the graduations. Being a west coast family, its tough to get out to see him as is so we have to choose our trips wisely. I will try to convince him that RSS would be great to see, followed by FRAC. I'll keep talking to him and see if he agrees.

Question, how much time did your son have to spend with you after RSS graduation? Was he still on phase 3 liberty? I understand that they revert back to phase 1 for the beginning of A school. Thanks for all of the input guys!!

Hi All, for what it's worth I've been to all of my son's graduations, Tom is on the money about RSS being cool being able to see the pool and meet the instructors. FRAC grad was really awesome because they showed us all the simulators and even let us fly one of them.  We met his instructors and the CO as well and his new squadron "patched" him in during the ceremony.  Cool stuff.

Thomas, Yea, I had a lengthy dialog with him yesterday about changing plans and making it to his graduation. He came back with he would rather us go see him graduate from A school. If he gets Sierra, then its only a matter of weeks. We can slide our April plans till then but if its Romeo, then we will go in April and back then 6 months later. I'll try again. I really want to see all that you are describing.

It's too bad you won't be there for RSS graduation. It was awesome. It's the only time where we as civis get to see the pool they trained and became men in. He was really excited to show us all the things they have learned. We also got to meet his instructors who put him through hell for 5 weeks !

Robert is on day 4-2. His class is down to 11. One of his best friend's got rolled back to 3-1 for missing small minor details on his multi's. Details, details, details. Miss them now and they will come back to bite you. We won't be able to go out for his RSS graduation but we will be seeing him at the end of April. One thing for sure, we will be there for FRAC graduation. Still a long ways off, but time is really flying by and it will be here before we know it.

My son has been a rescue swimmer since June 2004 and currently as NAS Whidbey.  Want to see what else they do look at this video.

He just finished the multi rescues. He really started to get to get pumped up when one of the instructors gave them a motivational speech last Friday telling the surviving few that they were now officially RSS candidates. To walk tall and to represent the RSS community well.

Hi Logph, I'm not sure if your son has started doing multi-rescues yet but that's when my son's confidence really shot through the roof, in particular the parachute disentanglements, for some reason he really loved that stuff.

Danny, I have seen Roberts confidence grow each day. A good sign but nevertheless, many days still to come. Each one holds its own challenge. While I was in serve, I was stationed in Puerto Rico for 3 yrs. Looking back, it is hard to classify that as work but the Navy sure made it that way. Beautiful Island though.
