Well done for your son Logph, each test is a little victory that will add up at the end. When my son was going through RSS we just tried to keep him focused on the present and to not look down the road too far, one day at a time, teamwork and attention to detail. We'll keep your son in our thoughts, I'm sure he'll do just fine.
Danny
He passed his test!! I'm not sure if we were happier than he was. He's got 3 days off and then back to the grinder.
Thanks for the words and support. Tough part about being a dad is you want to be there for him, but he is the one who has to go through it. I just need to be careful that I don't want it more than he does.
We went through that also ! Week 5 is when it really matters. There is so much for them to remember and then add all the yelling they do. Your son sounds like mine with the never say quit attitude. he will be fine. I am praying for him also !!!
He said that it was pretty bad but he felt 1-2 was worse for him. However, he failed one part of escapes and releases on 1-4 day. He is really bummed out about that one. He gets a second chance at it again today. Praying he stays focused on the task at hand.
Check out the video I asked Jim to post from the people of Japan thanking those who came to their aid during last year's earthquake. It is very moving and gives further meaning to the role our Rescue Swimmers do wherever they are. Enjoy the special emotions, especially for those who had sailors participate in the missions of relief
Thanks Thomas,
My son is A team. And yes, he found out about A team getting a more intense PT. He went into it knowing and mentally preparing for it. He texted me after his first day to say that he was tired but in good spirits. There was one guy that dropped out so far. No details on that. I'm impressed that he has made it this far. I guess it's a Dad thing cause I'm more concerned than he is. I've been using a lot of the comments from you guys to encourage him. It's all about the prize at the end of the road.
Robert started RSS today. (Gulp!!)
