My son arrived @ RTC last night, what will today consist of?

Tom, Thanks for your response. It will be heartbreaking for my wife when she finds out how little time we have with him. We definitely will make the best use of that time. While at the airport, where did you spend the time with your son? Were you free to roam around, and were you allowed to go past security to the gate?

LLA, Congrats to you and your son also! My son said basic was the worst 8 weeks of his life ! Sounds like your son is following the exact steps my son is. That is great. My son has never been happier! Now to the important part, he shipped out the next day to P Cola so we only had from after graduation to about 8 pm. We stayed at at Hilton Garden Inn about 2 exits south of where they are. It was really a nice area.we flew out the next day at 4 pm and he flew out also at 5 pm but he had to be at the a/p at 6 am. So we spent the day with him at the a/p. Make sure you bring tissues to the PIR ! Also arrive EARLY. Trust me on this one. Ours sons PIR had 938 sailors. Any questions about this or anything about P Cola please feel free to ask.it's what us dads are here for ! Congrats again to you and your Sailor !

Tom, first of all congrats on your son's accomplishments. I share your pride in what our boys are achieving. It's great to see them become men right before our eyes. We are getting ready to go see my son PIR on the 14th. Now for the important question - how much time did you have with him before he had to ship out?
