Good luck to your son Chuck McCann, he'll get through SERE fine, most do.
Our son just reported to SERE school. His mother is a wreck.
New to this. Ship 04-Div817 PIR 07/15/2016 anyone?
Great update Wayne. It's so hard, having lived our lives we know what the best decision would be. but to these guys and gals 6 years more seems like an eternity. I only hope my son stays in and retires if possible. The opportunities out her are slim. I know he loves it though, so here's hoping for the best.
Hey all ; Thought I would drop in and say a few words. Chris is still in San Diego with the Indians (HSC-6) . I guess with all the cut-backs and Him being in training , He only was out on one deployment . As I said previous , He went into the SEAL program and ended here, so he had signed for 6 years . Well that time is rapidly closing and was offered another package . I will wait to see if he will take it before disclosing more , but is still with the squadron . He is doing great and likes what he is doing but like I have told him about any good paying jobs out in the real world are not really there unless he wants to go to college . I hope he takes the package . For all the newer Dads and maybe Moms here , our sons and daughters are in the best hands . Wow has my son changed for the best . So proud what he has been doing.
Spent Memorial Day weekend in Pensacola with our swimmer. He's half way through A school right now at at the top of his class. We've tried to visit him as often as we can while he's still on the East coast as these visits will undoubtedly become fewer and farther between once this phase of the pipeline is over.
Very good Brad! I know how proud you are of your two children. I would have loved to have seen either one of my boys today. Thanks for the update!
Great update Brad! Thanks for thinking of NavyDads and saying "hey" !
Enjoyed Memorial day with both my kids coming home for the weekend. Garrett from Pensacola as an instructor and celebrated his 9 year anniversary today and Valerie a Marine Lt. from Camp Pendleton who just made the Career Designate list to be kept as an officer after her 4 years are up in Dec. Today we visited my Dad's final place the Florida National Cemetery. What a weekend! Hope you all celebrated with your sailors and family in some way.
