What platform is your son going to fly in? B's, F's, R's or S?

Welcome Jim Bruder! Congrats to your son for graduating RSS. You should be proud of him completing such a difficult program! I know all of us who have children that have or are going through RSS share in your delight for what he has done. The romeo is the type of Helo he will train with. They have sonar inside that he will be learning to do anti-sub hunting as his functions other than rescue. Much to learn yet, as he goes towards earning his aircrew wings! Again congrats to you for giving him the legacy to follow, and let your son know that all of us in the rescue swimmer group offer our congratulations, best wishes, and tremendous respect for his accomplishment!! You should be proud! Go Navy!

My son leaves today (Friday in Japan) from Atsugi Navy Air Station for the Air force base in Okinawa to complete his combat SAR qual over the next 3 weeks. Not sure what to expect for him there, but I hope he does well.

Michael, Glad you got to see your son home! It is always a great feeling to see them again! My son Garrett is also with HS-14. I would expect they know each other then. I was at the party they had in Atsugi just before they left for the fall tour. I wonder if I met him?

Paul was just here for two weeks on a surprise visit home. It was several years since his last trip home. The guys at Greensboro NC Moose Lodge Gave him a warm welcome home.

I am proud to be a Navy Dad and even more proud to be able to say that my son Paul is a Rescue Swimmer. They are a very special group of guys and very respected among all branches of the service. If you ever wonder what its like go fill the tub with ice water, sit in it and get a real feel of what they do to save lives.
