Our son has been sent to a new school Saw him for two days. Actually he wasx with his aunt for two or three days and then left. He had three days to get to his new school and now is on hold for awhile. "Hurry up and wait!" It will be Christmas b4 we see him next, unlss we drive to see him, depends where he and his brother will be stationed next. Chris hopes for "C" school out of "A" school.

Very nice. I believe we passed through Muddy River on our way to Patrick's PIR a few weeks ago. http://oregonsportsphotos.exposuremanager.com/p/beaverton_vs_pendle... Is a link to a picture of him taking the ball against the Beaverton (OR) Barbarians in 2009 season.

Roy, If you go to Muddy River Rugby the head has the team playing at the top. Our son Chris is just on the left, bsll in hand, in front of number 11 in red

And Jim, thanks for the logo - serves perfectly! I didn't have it at the time I was inspired.

Thanks Joseph. Our son began playing with the Aptos (Santa Cruz) Beach Dogs as a high school freshman, and took the sport to Eastern Oregon when we moved there. It is his one and only sporting love, which I appreciate as I grew up with it, rather than TR's gridiron.

I appreciate the Webb Ellis story as well, and given some of the other groups I thought there might be a few of us out there.

By the way i love the sport and had son Chris in Div lll at fifteen
Also check what tradition is carried on when a rugger (virgin) scores his first try (touchdown).! The ball is still in play after the carrier crosses the line until the ball is touched down and a try (touchdown) is scored.

Rugby was formed near the late 1830's and purportedly bystarted Rugby Academy WlLiam Webb Ellis who instAed of heading or kicking
a ball caught it and began to run. Some say Ellis was under the influence of alcohol hence the reason supposed ruggers SUPPOSEDLY drink ??? 1836 the football association waS FORMED AND FOOTBALL AND RUGBY SPLIT.
When teddy Roosevelt saw his first football (rugby) game in the U S he decieded it was to roughg a sport for the United States and made his own rules for football in th U S hence our present day football which originated with Rugby
