Navy Dads

SHIP 03, DIV 076; PIR 1/25/03; future Nuke;

Posted this on Navy Boot Camp, but figured I'd add it here also.

Considering the holiday traditions with family some of our kids are missing, whether at RTC or currently serving anywhere in the world; The lighting of the Christmas bonfires on the levee of the Mississippi River, in the river parishes of SE Louisiana happen tonight.

To all who enjoy the connection of this site & Navy for Moms, and their military loved ones, who are the ones sacrificing for our freedoms to enjoy this time of year, we want to wish you all warmest holiday & Merry Christmas wishes!

Geaux my goodness its been a long day

Lighted stick done Anthony...in honor of those who serve! Zeigler is a familiar name. Are you also from SE Louisiana? We missed my son, who missed his 1st Christmas here; he was a DEP Summer of '11, graduated from Ascension Catholic in Donaldsonville, 2012; and now up at boot, in a push division, 076/ship 03, with expected PIR of 1/25/13. He will go to A school in S.Carolina after. We live across the river from Lutcher/Gramercy, & build our own bonfire; but we do go across to catch the big lighting. Hope to connect with you again. Best wishes to you for New Year 2013 coming up!

YEAH FAMILY FROM BATON ROUGE THEN THEY MOVED TO GEORGETOWN. MOTHERS LAST NAME WAS BERGERON.

That's great! I grew up with some Bergerons! Raised & live in Vacherie, right across the river from where the bonfires happen in Lutcher/Gramercy, & went to school at Ascension Catholic in Donaldsonville, as did my kids! We haven't gotten our "3rd week" call from our son yet. He's @ RTC now (lovely low temps they're enjoying up there now! Lol). His PIR is "scheduled" for Jan 25.

Also, since you are a vet here, & have any insight to phone call privilages I welcome it. And if we have the correct address, can there still be issues with mail delivery up there.
