zazzws - did he get a carrier or sub orders?

Comment by Zazzws on December 6, 2011 at 6:21pm
My sailor was told by the Navy recruiter that he had to sign the sub volunteer paperwork if he wanted to be enrolled in the nuke program.
He signed it along with all the other enlistment paperwork.
We live in Seattle.

William.  I just had a talk with my sailor who is stationed in Groton and asked about sub pay.  He told me that they start to receive their sub pay once actually on the boat but the pay is retroactive to the first day they signed up for sub duty.  He happened to sign up for sub duty while in indoc at BC so his retroactive sub pay was considerable.  Those who wait until later could get far less.  He knew some sailors who did not sign up until prototype thus they got far less.  He was lucky in that he signed up early and was actually assigned to a sub.

My son was also sub volunteer, I found out he just got assigned to the Abraham Lincoln. He passed his board this past week.

My son says try here. If he were in some trouble they would have contacted you. If he went to Mast, disapline, they may have taken his electronics. But, even then you could have been notified. Or maybe he needs some space.

Michal, mine is also T-Track a MM waiting to class up for NPS which starts on the 8th.  If you son is in that same group and has the same surname I'll ask if he can locate him.

My son's contract was Subs & all his Nuke Pipeline centered around subs, he was planning on subs & when he got his orders after prototype he was assigned a carrier....

My son is on grad hold at GC. If you need him to track him down or do anything else just let me know. Maybe my son could go to his room.

We have been trying to contact our son for over a week. It's not an emergency but we would like to know he is alright. He is on T-track at GC. Does anyone have a phone number to contact the base?
