My son has been at Goose Creek since late September following graduation from RTC.  He classed-up shortly after arrival and classes are going well.  The problem is he's been having these recurring sore throats and swollen glands.  He's requested to see a doctor but ends up seeing a medic who does not have the skills to do the right tests.  My son is frustrated, because he continues to feel lousy and does not know how to push his C.O. or whoever the right people are, to get off the dime, and get a doctor involved.

Anyone here know what my son should do?  Any advice on what the procedure is to get to see a doctor on the base?

My son just got to Goose Creek for A school  MM.  Arrived on Nov. 5.  He is waiting a few weeks to get started as there must not be enough to start a class.  Graduation was awesome and am glad to be able to talk to him instead of writing letters.  I look forward to what is ahead for him and am glad I have this place to get info

Our son graduates from Prototype school on Friday, and he just called to say he got his orders and he is going to be stationed in Bangor, WA. on a Ballistic Missile Sub. We are very excited as is he because it is only 4 hours from our home in Salem, OR.. Now hoping I can get the time off of work to fly to New York and then drive home with him to Oregon.

Think so Tampa Bay Ron.  My son, Trev flew out of OHare this am, bound for Charleston and MM nuke school. His PIR was yesterday, Nov 4th and we've been in quite a whirlwind of too short meetings and goodbyes. Quite the information overload.  Thanks to the USO, at OHare and everywhere, for taking care of our sailors while they're away and in transit. Forgot his most prized pssession, his cell phone, left accidently on the counter, but was able to give him his laptop and camera at the airport.

My son arrived in Charleston two weeks ago and is classing up next week (Nov. 7th) for MM A-school. Class 1206A. Anyone else in the same class?

This is a little off topic for this group but since we have numerous Navy vets in this group I'll ask a question that I've not found the answer to. If a Navy pilot dies while flying a sortie is he awarded a Purple Heart medal?

A distant cousin, Larry Gosen, listed on the Virtual Wall does not show a Purple Heart. (Navy Air Medal, National Defense Service, Vietnam Service, Vietnam Campaign are shown) I've added his medals to Larry's memorial and I'd like to add all medals that he is entitled to.

Is there a link I that shows the medals a specific veteran has been awarded? Thanks to all who respond in advance.

Mines an EM also. He was never on hold during
his schooling. His proto was in GC. We loved Charleston!
He and his wife are at Kitsap now, Bangor Wash.
