I really cannot answer anything Tom as I have no idea about time frames...I was looking back over old emails my son sent for my cruise...we left in April and it seems things we moving along about 6 weeks before cruise...but then I don't have many of the mails anymore (either one of my e-mail cleaning-up frenzies or the hard drive crash I had....).  Mind you he is not supposed to use e-mail to comm dates in the open...you may have to use a code of sorts so as not to violate OPSEC (like 7 days after the date of my birthday....etc....)

Hey Paul, should we be getting details anytime soon?

I am planning on the TC and have all my paperwork in although have not received details. My wife gets seasick so she's going to hold down the fort!

Ditto on what Tom said. My son is also on the RR. Power school was an event I'll not forget for a long time.

My boy's getting down to the nitty gritty, Power School graduation is 8/12. It's been long and hard, but he's almost there. Heading down to Goose Creek, can't wait to see him!

Tom my daughter graduated a year ago April and is on the Reagan. Y'all planning on the TC?

When your sailor graduates from Power School it is a HUGE deal! It is one of the toughest programs in the Navy. Our son Kevin graduated a year ago May and is now aboard the USS Ronald Reagan, CVN-76. We attended graduation and it was so cool it brings a tear to my eye to think about it!

Consider power school the land of no sun. The kids will see very little daylight with all the studying. However the look of accomplishment on their faces when they graduate is more than worth it. Do yourself a favor start making pre-plans to attend power school graduation. The group at Goose Creek does a real nice ceremony. If you need info on places to stay while there give me a shout

Thanks and Tex, best of luck to your sailor too.  The recruiters said it would not be easy and they weren't kidding were they.
