My daughter in law has just corrected me. Married couples can be together through all phases.

Anthony - all A school nukes are required to live in the barracks. (99% sure of this) My son is in prototype there. He married right after A school and was able to get married housing on base as he began Power school. Singles must remain in barracks until prototype, then they must use perdeum to get off base housing / apartment. Married couples or families are able to live on base. They have a great two story duplex with 3 bedrooms and 2 baths, one car garage.
If you would like, send me your cell and we can text or talk.
Look for my email. I should some start a page on how to move all you son and wife's belongings to bases. That was a headache for him that turned out to be much easier after I called and got all the info for him. With all o the studying they do, he will not have time to understand the process. Keep in touch. Steve

For those new to this site, it is best for security reasons not to use last names.  As for your post Anthony, my best response would be to wait until he arrives at GC to make any plans.  I am sure he will find out all about base housing for married personnel at that time.  Hopefully some one on here with a nuke who was married before going to GC can help more.

My son Patrick will be heading to Nuke School next month.  His wife and 1 yr old daughter are living with me and my family while he's in training.  We are trying to figure out when it will be best for her to join him in S.C. but I am not sure what to advise.  Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks Rumardian for the info on the TR RCOH!! Kevin is gone now and it was alot harder to see him off this time after his month long leave. He heard from a mate from his section at prototype that E4's might have a choice to live in town. hopefully thats true as he is not looking forward to BEQ on the barge. If anybody has any info on this , please let me know. thanks

Thanks, I think thats what his deal is also..I just got done speaking with him. He did say he had to read his contract tho. He says people have different deals when the money comes. That might be why Donniec gets different stories about when it is paid.

My son recently completed power school also, I know he received part of it when he completed power school. I do not believe he received any of his sign on bonus until them. They do not have a lot of expenses while they are in basic, there room and board are taken care of they are given housing allowance once they have to move off base.
