There were a lot of people that didnt make it for diferent reasons. Im glad to say that my son passed his final with above average grades and will be moveing on to prototype.

Michael, sorry to hear about your son but not to be alarmist, your son could be facing charges of treason if he truly did take this material out of the classroom building and sent it to others.   ALL material is classified and is to NEVER leave the building.  You may have found out why he is being discharged.  We heard a story, true or not about a textbook being missing and the student who was assigned this book faced serious charges related to treason.  I am no lawyer but I also wonder if he has put your family at risk as they are not cleared for this information and should never have received it.  As for discharge papers, if one is discharged from any branch of the service always is issued discharge papers, no exceptions.

Michael that is shocking I don’t know what else to say. I am very surprised your son could gain access to those files at all but as I understand it the teaching material is classified and should never leave the school building. I have no advice to offer anything I say would probably be bad advice. This is not good.

Congratulations to everyone who passed their Power School Comp Exam today. Strong work! See you at graduation Friday.

I am very embarrassed to say that our son is getting kicked out of the Navy for reasons unknown to us.  We are truly devastated and he seems to be "enjoying" himself...Facebook, YouTube, etc. and can't seem to tell us when he will be home or what he has done to get kicked out.  No Car, No Job, No Insurance, likely No Money and No Status Quo.  He has blown the best opportunity for an education and future that he will likely ever have before him.  He says he will not come home with discharge papers as he claims the reasons for discharge will be "between me and legal".  We know this is not true.  There is one other very important issue we are needing your help with.  For some reason, he found the need to have zip files of 7 textbooks from Nuclear A School and has now emailed these to many family members.  It seems to us that at least some of this material would be considered classified and he could be facing bigger problems soon.  Can someone please clarify this and let us know what he might be facing from this?  Thank you for your help and Thank Your Sailors for their dedication and service.

My son just completed prototype and I believe he said that graduation was March 6th (early March). A friend of his is going to ELT school and he is staying there at Balston Spa for the training -

If Balston Spa is anything like the  MTS626 was the ELT school was there at the proto type.

Anyone have a son who's getting done with Prototype in BS this March? Also if a sailor gets chosen to go to ELT school, where is this school located?

Everyone in the Nuke pipeline has the aptitude, otherwise they would not be in the program.  Students who struggle (all of them struggle to some degree) are judged on sincere effort.  The program is designed to be highly stressful.  The Command decides the fate of those who are not going to make it through the pipeline.  All things being equal, the odds of getting reassigned increase if the student completes A school.  The Commands exerts considerable effort to keep struggling students in the pipeline.  In today's environment, the Navy can be very selective.  Getting in (and staying in) is  harder than is was when my son went in only five years ago.  I hope it all works out for your son.

Can anyone tell me what the protocol is if someone attending A-school for Nukes has absolutely no aptitude for the program, or washes out?  Do they find another rate which might be needed, do they just discharge them, or....?  Just wondering how it works.  Thanks.
