Mike. Believe it or not, I was the person sitting next to you who spoke to you and your family about your daughter's graduation. My wife and your wife talk on N4M. Small world. We stayed down in SC until Monday and then went up to Ballston Spa to help my son find an apartment. He is reporting in today as he took some leave to get everything settled.

Yes, congratulations to all who graduated, they are to be commended. It was a great ceremony and we had wonderful weather. We especially liked them encouraging us to get up close for pics, that was really great. Our son is staying at Goose Creek and we moved him into his new apartment right after graduation, then hit the beach. We were extremely lucky that he was able to come with us to NJ for his sister's graduation from Rutgers the next Tuesday. Had a great day in NYC(Intrepid) on Monday then home to Illinois for an all too brief 3 days here before he flew back yesterday. He is lucky to be taking some classes starting today and then who knows how the hold situation will be. Like usual with the Navy, you never know anything really until it happens.

Congratulations to your son, hope the weather is nice there. Going to Ballston is a good thing now due to the fact one of the training subs in Charleston is currently in Dry Dock and the other has had to power down due to a maintenance issue. My son is with the sub in drydock in Norfolk

Sitting in Charleston waiting for the big day tomorrow! My son and his closest friends all passed comps on Tuesday and my wife and I are so proud of them as well as all who have reached this step. God bless them all! We are on our way up to Ballston Spa on Monday after a little weekend R&R. Hope all goes well for those staying down in Goose Creek.

After a long hard pull my son passed too!! Power school down, Prototype to go! I hear if you pass the first you are destined to pass the second half. I hope so. He barely made it. Whew. My son will be in San Diego Friday night, wasting no time! I have some Chargers (Steve Gregory, Vincent Jackson, some linemen, and Ultimate fighters (Dean Lister, Arianna, the UFC girl that carries the sign around to announce next round, Rashad Evans PR agent a 23 year old model) to meet up with him, a limo lined up, etc. I am so excited!! Field tickets to Padre game Sunday. He deserves it all. Congrats to everyone! You are right. Even if they didn't make it they ARE still Champs!! We are blessed. And I have that Navy pocket knive that got suggested here to me ready for him. His birthday is in July and I am doing it up now. They made it!! I am so proud.

We have heard on navy moms that there was an accident that has shut down the sub that they work on in Goose Creek. The other is up in Norfolk for service so they are short anyway. The incident needs contractors to work on it thus prototype at Goose Creek is shut down and is going to be on hold even longer. Those scheduled to finish in July are not going to as we understand it. Our son has also said that there has been a problem and he could be on hold longer than expected.

We got a call from our son and he passed comps. He sounds so relieved. The hold though for Goose Creek prototype is now quite long what with the accident on the one working reactor. Can not wait to see him and celebrate with him on Friday.
