John, it can be very confusing trying to figure out the Navy. My son's status changed three times in the last week, as far as grad and go or staying for 5 days. He ended up a grad and go and we got to see him after the PIR for 40 minutes. We were able to go to the airport and see him while he waited for his plane though.

It's on the form with his bonus amount. States that he enters E3 and will be MM unless its not available. I'm not sure really what it all means.?
I'd like to figure out which job and which college will give him the work credit. I'm sure they will get into all of that soon though.

It was on his contract?? My son is in BC right now and they chose which rate they wanted to be while there. Then, after they make their "wish list" then they find out what rate they have be assigned. I am confused about the contract having that info.

I looked at the boys contract and it says he's MM unless already given to someone else then he's ET and something else. Interesting..... hmm

David, our son left GL at 2 AM in the morning and waited at the USO until his flight around 9 AM. We were lucky that he did not leave until Tuesday so we saw him all weekend.
Steven, an A school class starts every two weeks. Sailors often wait until they class up, sometimes as long as two weeks. They are in what is called INDOC, where they clean and do other duty. My sailor said they muster at 7, clean until lunch, clean more after lunch and are done around 2-3 in the afternoon. One of the most boring times he has had he said.

When is your PIR? Jayme called yesterday and said that he heard that his A school in GC may not start for 2 weeks. Our PIR is 2/5. Can anyone tell us what he is able to do for 2 weeks before it starts?

Need some info that the old hands here might know. When your sailor left GL what time of the day did he get on the plane.
The boy has already said that he will be traveling on Saturday after grad. We do know that we will wait with him at the USO at O'Hare till his flight leaves but we (Mom mostly) does not want it to be the first flight of the day at like 5 am or when ever the first flight out is.
If anyone can remember or can ask, it will settle a issue in Mom's mind.
