Thanks, I will. While at MEPS, to see our son get sworn in, I was able to pass along this web site to another family. They were looking for some place to get information about their sailors life and I told them I hadn't found a better site than yours.

Hello Navy Dads, our son Eric just departed from MEPS in Sacramento for Great Lakes this morning. What a couple of days it has been for all of us. After all the information gathering and planning we had done to prepare for this moment we were still kind of caught off guard by how emotional it was. Now he's starting this journey towards his future, and we can't be happier

Wow Bob - that's fantastic news!  Bravo Zulu to your son and have a great time at graduation.  Good luck to him with his instructional staff training.

Great Day today, Matt called and he passed his Board Review at Proto Type with flying colors. He is now a fully qualified Nuclear Mechanical Tech.

We are headed up to Graduation at Ballston Spa this Friday.

After Graduation Matt begins his training as a new member of the Instructional staff.

Bravo Zulu Son!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi everyone - Happy Friday! We are back from Ballston Spa. Had a wonderful visit with our sailor and met many of his friends. We made sure to get and give extra hugs to all of them!

The weather was great - a little chilly for me but no rain or snow! Hubby and sailor said the weather was perfect!  We made it to Cooperstown to the Baseball Hall of Fame which was very nice.

Sailor, hubby and I at the park:

So far prototype is going well....they've been given a tentative September grad date but sailor said not to count on it.  Lot's of delays.......He's still on "Off crew" and should switch to "On crew" sometime in June.

Eric - tell you daughter not to fret over the test - she has plenty more tests to go where she can make it up!  Just remind her one day at a time - sounds like she has a great mindset and will do well!

Sailorette had tough day. Didn't do as well on test as she hoped. She did call an "integrity recheck" because she knew an answer she got wrong was marked correct. Best run time ever not so hot with her sit ups. But she is looking at the positives and not overthinking bad stuff. I worry too much but she is growing up and hopefully will learn to deal with the stress.

Make sure you know the rules for claiming a dependent, as they are a little complicated. I would be surprised if any our sailors would qualify for 2014.

Barry, Actually both of you can file an amended return for this year. As all three of my children became independent but were still eligible to be counted as a dependent, I had them file as zero dependents, claimed them as a dependent and wrote them a check for the amount they would have received had they claimed them self.

Sailorette passed her first test!!!!!!
