Mine's still waiting in BS for Prototype to start, working 7 on and 2 off, but he's got liberty for 5 days, so headed that way to spend Independence Day in NYC!  Have a good one, guys!

Ken - glad you hear your son's moving along.  Hopefully that means they're getting all the prototype facilities up and running for the guys.  Good luck to your son in Prototype.

Hi Daniel
My son starts Prototype in Charleston in 3 weeks. He just found an apartment to share with two other sailors. Several of his friends just shipped up to New York for their training.

Best of luck with your son.

Congrats KenH.  Hang in there for the hold.  Mine is only about a third of the way through A school (also an ET); thought he heard they were going to try to get a newer reactor at GC at some point to speed up the holds.

My son (ET3) graduated NPS on May 3, thinks he still has another 2 1/2 months of Grad Hold based on some kind of listing that came out.

Welcome to the world of Navy Nukes, Eric.  Not to sell this site short, cause the guys (and a few moms) here have been great but the Navy for Moms website has good Nuke group discussions too.  One group for Navy Nukes, one for A school Charleston.  Some of the parents there have daughters that are going into the Nuke field.

Well, last week my daughter enlisted as a CTN. Monday the navy calls and said "we know you just picked your job.....but we just had 2 spots in nuke open.....do you want one?"

We schedule an appointment with her recruiter for last night. We get there and "there just happens" to be a MMC in the nuke program who "just happened" to be in OC from San Diego. Mind you this guy has only been in the Navy for 7 years and is a Chief.

To make a long story short.... Her new ship date will be in January or February and she will be going Nukes!!!!!!!!!!

Well, couldn't arrange transportation, and wanted to help him move, so I put 2200 miles on his car, he's now on grad hold in BSpa.  An epic drive to a gorgeous part of the country - much nicer (rural) than Charleston. He is living in approved housing, 4 other guys, 3 acre place, 10 minutes from the base.

@ Phillip....No. Unfortunately we are in NJ. 3yrs and I'm retired and can't wait to move out of state. Also as far as the car goes....When I was in the Marines I had registered it in NC where I was stationed. The only reason I did that was it saved me a ton of money on insurance.

Here's one for the group, My MM just bought a car in GC and is headed to BS, report 5/20, thanks KTR, Question is... should he register the car in SC, NY, or NV our home state.  Congrats to everyone moving around...it's an exciting time.....GO NAVY

Brian...do you live in Vegas ?
