Just found out my Daughter passed her finale for "A" school yesterday and will be graduating Friday. Then it's a short vacation for her in Las Vegas and then the wait to start powerschool.

Yup, got the same call.  Separating from Charleston 5/10, must report to BS 5/20.  Yikes! He already has housing, now just got to get him his car!

Well so much for 8 months of grad hold in GC.  7 weeks after PS grad he just texted me that he is headed to NY in 7 days.    Classing up in BS ?  I'll get more news this weekend.  Told him to think positive and go get that bonus money !!!!!  I'm sure he was looking for a longer vacation from school.

Ken and Gerald - Congrats to you and your sailors!

Gerald, one of my son's good buddys (MM) has also been assigned to the Roosevelt and is thrilled!

My son (ET) just passed his comps at NPS today. Thanks to all for keeping me savvy enough to be supportive. He's not sure how long he has to wait for Prototype; at least a couple of months.

Thank you all for sharing your experiences! I am a brand spanking new navy mom, but very very proud. My son left for bootcamp yesterday and is set to start school in Charleston as a MM upon graduation. I am learning so much about his new career from y'all and I appreciate all the info. Congrats to all the graduating sailors and my positive thoughts of encouragement to those still in school.

Ok Folks, 2 years, 3 weeks and it's done!  He thought he did well on his orals with what was thought to be a tough crew so BZ.

Also, to the admins, thank you for giving all us parents the opportunity to learn, vent, commiserate, and mostly learn what was going on with our sailors.

I will be somewhat quiet now, but will keep tracking the boards to see if my experiences can lend a hand.

Daniel C... good luck to your sailor.  As everyone else here will say, stay in touch and enjoy the trip.

Mine finally knows where his next home is, and he is VERY happy.  Boards are sometime between now and Friday.  Being a sailor he would like to get it over so he and his buddy's can go out and be "sailors"
