Congrats to all.  Mike passed his comp yesterday and now waits for proto.  He got his grad hold assignment ,  will be working for Habitiat for Humanity.  Unfortunately we cannot make it down for graduation.  Anyone who attends please applaud a little extra for us.

Yes, grats to your grads. My son passed his comp today, too. My wife will be there on Friday. I originally intended to attend but other family is coming to town and I'm staying behind.

We're so very proud today.

Congrats to all the Friday power school graduates that passed comp today. To appreciate the difficulty of the challenge I heard that this group had a 20% failure rate.  That makes your achievement today so much more special.

On my way to GC Thursday for a weekend celebration in Charleston..then 10 days leave at home with my MM3.  If the FAA and TSA doesn't mess things up.

I feel like I can breathe again...after failing A school PFA, I've been holding my breath since mid summer.  through the MMFN....through the attition division and all the drama.  Everything is fine now...he got his crow and passed power school. Now, 8 months of hold and then on to proto at BS.  Oh yea, and BONUS MONEY

I'll be wearing my US Navy Vietnam Veterans hat to the ceremony just like my profile picture.  If you see me, please stop and say HI.  God Bless...and now I'm going to the bar because I'm exhausted !

My son graduates NPS in 2 months. The posted graduation video looks great, but I'll have to visit him later on; just glad to hear he likes what he's doing.
RE: communication, he's very accessible by phone, Skype, etc..

My son's in his 4th week in Goose Creek, & like's it so far. Yes, they are more communitation friendly at this stage. We will definitely make the graduation when it comes up!

My son just finish prototype and went out with the Ike.  He bought a car in A school and was able to travel on most weekends.  Go to the Power School graduation if possible.

I'll echo mongst's comment. My son should also finish power school on Friday.

My two other sons and I went to SC last Memorial day weekend and the boy was actually able to stay with us the entire weekend. He didn't have to return to base at night. That might have to do with it being a long weekend and his class standing at the time. He was still in ET A School and was doing very well at the time.

But, yeah, you'll see and hear much more from him once he's out of boot camp.

Thanks for the info. Looking forward to seeing and hearing from him more

Hi Harold, yes you will. They can have their cell phone (though they can not bring it in to the "classroom building". Also, unless they have watch, (depending on what phase they are in) they have weekends off and can leave base (with certain restriction based on phase)

Hello Harold,  My son Mike is in SC now,  will graduate Power school on Friday.  You can definitely  be in contact more often.  We talk on the phone every weekend when he is not in study hours.  When we went down to visit last year  we were able to see him in the evening after classes , unless he had duty that night.  We also were able to  see him all day Saturday and Sunday.  He did early morning study hours and had to be bac on base at 9PM.  When he first gets to SC his time off is limited but the longer he is there the restrictions ease up.  Congratulations .
