Talked to my son last night and he advised he is re-enlisting. He'll start his paperwork on Monday.

WEll the time has begun. Matt had his PIR on 09/14, arrived at Goose Creek 09/15.

Begins his MM training on 10/03 then onto Nuke training. Matt did fantastic in Basic, is a little nervous about whats coming up but he has his head screwed on right and intends to focus fully.

Most "higher learning" institutions don't grant credit for Nuke training.

Most Nukes with experience of the Nuclear Pipeline can totally breeze through any tech course at any local 2-year college with no sweat at all and get a good head start on a 4-year degree.

The GI bill subsidy helps a lot.  If your  Sailor wants a serious engineering degree they will have to get it on their own - - credits -- nah.  Knowing the important stuff and the study skills and the self-reliance will get a real good head start on any degree program out there.

Many institutions of higher learning do not grant credit for the Nuke Pipeline.  After completing the Pipeline, my son entered The Citadel with @ 20 hrs. of credit.

ABET accreditation is key in selecting colleges.  Thomas Edison became accredited in 2010.

Thanks, Bainite.
It's probably a little premature -- my son (ET) only graduates A school next month -- but I like to look ahead.
