I was told that they will be drivers for the officers etc.......work on cleaning areas, kind of the maintenance stuff around the base- he sdaid that it might be good to have a little mental break, but not that long. They are in the groove for studying now and it would be nice to keep that going so you don 't loose the momentum, but he seems OK with it

Thanks for the info. My son knows he is in for 8 years total, and he aready expects the delay you explained. He hasn't decided if that is a good or bad thing yet. He also didn't make plane reservations etc for coming home like everyone else (who had to change them because the 15 days turned into 10 days off) until he got the orders. He seems to be hip to all this stuff. Maybe having a break from all that studying and re-grouping is okay. What do they do while they wait??

My son just left yesterday morning to head back for Power School which was supposed to start on Monday. He called today and said that he was told today that he (all that were in A scshool) will be in "T" track for the next 2 - 3 months because of the backlog created by Prototype in New York.......He seems OK with it, but it would have been nice to go to school fairly soon after A school just beacause you are in the study mode and I hear that studying will be a little tougher in Power School........

That is the bottom line for us I guess. We will take what we can get. Always.

Mike...My son also has 10 days leave right after A school. Unfortunately he wants to spend 3 of them driving back and forth. We wanted him to fly, but he bought a car and wants us to see it. Again, any time home is quality time. I appreciate every minute, no matter how short.

Sheryl, my son was also told he would be able to come home for Christmas. I told my wife to curb her excitement until the day he does come home. Orders change very quickly.

As far as I know, prototype is the same length as Power School. We were told that for the Em's and ET's the three schools are nearly the same length, around 20-24 weeks each. Steve is heading home right after graduation, the night of the 2nd for 10 days leave. We are unable to attend the graduation but with him coming straight home, that is probably for the best. We anticipate making the Power School graduation though next spring.

Also, my son said he is not only coming home after A school and has the orders already, he is coming home for Christmas. I hope so!
