Daniel,  I live 1.5hrs south of Ballston spa.  If your son is going to be there over the winter and he likes warm weather then choose SC.

Mike ,  it's Wingate by Wyndham

Mike, we stayed at the Windham by Wyngate next to Charleston Univ.  Very nice place.

Mike thank you for your service and you deserved better from the Lodge! Might try to take in a Riverdogs game next visit I grabbed a schedule...spent my first 12 years in the Bronx so needless to say a Bronx Bombers fan! Let us know of any good places to eat!

Rocco, my wife and I were also there during the 4th weekend and are going back at the end of August. So Fairfield it will be. Patriots Point was very impressive, as well as "The Joe", the Single A NY yankee team called the Riverdogs played a rain shortened game.  Its a fun place to watch a game. When the air force lodging folks recognized me as a 21 year Navy retiree they seemed to have no more rooms available.

Mike, I stayed with my son. He has his own place as there is no BOQ there.

Our sailor is conflicted between Prototype in Ballaston Spa or Goose Creek. Wonder if anyone has thoughts and Pros and Cons of either?

We stayed at the Fairfield Inn & Suites in North Charleston/Ashley Phosphate. Very accommodating, breakfast included and pretty central to everything. Also pet friendly. Usually can't go wrong with a Marriott property. We visited over the July 4th weekend.

Andreas, what hotel chain did you use?  I visited 2 weeks ago and stayed at the Raddison, and DON'T want to do that again.  Does anyone else have berthing recommendations?

Just back from Charleston and my son's graduation from Power School. He gets a short leave before reporting to Groton and Sub School before returning to Charleston and prototype in November.
