He's made it thru this process and has completed PST today which means he's done with "A" school. He will soon begin his actual training for aircrew. He thinks he will get AWF or AWV either way I'm really a proud Dad

Well our sailor arrived 12/29/2012 he finally classed up 3 weeks ago and if he passes PST this week will graduate A school. He was disappointed when he arrive they told him the same thing that it maybe 4 to 8 months before he would begin A school. He is really happy now this was his first weekend with full weekend liberty.

have no insight save to say this is not uncommon, especially with the issues with budgets right now.......

We visited our daughter in Pensacola about 6 weeks after she arrived there for A School.  We took her car to her along with some other things she couldn't take with her from BC.  Worked out perfectly.  She drove home after graduating from A School and spent a couple of weeks and then drove to San Diego for C School and is still stationed there.

Jose Perez- re: when is a good time to visit?

I visited my sailor @ 2 months after she got to A school. I highly recommend that you stay at the Navy Lodge. It's nice having a private beach, and such a nice hotel right on base. We were able to spend time off the base getting to know Pensacola area a bit.

We are actually planning another visit pretty soon. I can't wait to spend time with our sailor, and we look forward to the Navy Lodge again.

The only other NL we have been to is the one at Great Lakes so I don't have alot to compare it to. But the one in Pensacola has to be one of the better ones.

Yeah, gotta get rid of the SAAB. It just sucks that she dumped over $700 into it for nothing. Oh well, she got 4 or 5 good years out of it anyway.

Not sure if any of your kids were included (the school provides the names) but we hosted a group of Rescue Swimmer newbies for Thanksgiving...if so I hope they had a good time. Our neighbors and us have been doing it for awhile and usually have about 30 kids. They enjoy it, but we enjoy it more...Hope you all had a Happy Thanksgiving.

Is Corry staying open over christmas and new years? My sailor is still saying that she can only get 5 or 6 days off. Oh well, it's better than none.

And she got her saab "fixed'. Well they replaced the fuel pump and other parts, and now it breaks down regularly. She brought it back a couple of times, and they claim to be unable to find any problems. It's a real saab sob story at this point.
