Glad you had a good time and will find your way back soon. Great timing...we're in our Autumn drought now, we also usually have one in the Spring. My favorite times of the year here...wonderfully low humidity. It'll soon change to the modified Seattle winter (not as much rain).

Phil,

I had one of the first Saab Turbos (I'm old) and loved it. Not easy to work on then, finally found a small shop up in PA and they were great. Now it's worse, with very little resale. Hopefully she'll end up farther North where they're more common. Good Luck with it.

I've been afraid of saab's since the day she got it. They had it for @ a week (were busy) and then told her they couldn't find anything wrong. So she tried to drive it out of there but didn't make a mile. They towed it back and replaced fuel pump and associated parts. That took a while. Now she says it still stalls out when stopped. This is the problem with saabs! Not easy to work on/fix.

When she first got the saab I was worried. I wouldn't have picked a saab but she likes it, and she bought it herself at 16. At first it needed work. After trying several places we decided the saab dealer was the best option. Expensive but at least they knew how to fix things correctly. Once everything was sorted out, it's been a solid reliable car. Too bad they went out of business. They are pretty popular up here because they are pretty good in the bad weather snow/ice. thanks for the feedback!

Phil,

I work for a large dealership in Pensacola, but we don't have Saab friendly equipment either and unless I miss my guess, your daughter's car is where we take our Saabs. The local Saab dealer was the Cadillac dealer and might still be able to help her out. Since Saab went out of business they've become kind of an orphan make. Good luck with the Swedes.

She had it towed to a shop on Pensacola blvd that specializes in foreign cars. But from the track record on the saab, it will be good to know of some good places. We've had to bring this car to numerous places here at home before we found somebody that is good with saabs, so I wouldn't be surprised if we need a good place before long. She will be there for a while for A & C school. thanks for helping out.

Phil:

Not sure.  I just had my sons transmission fixed at Mr. Transmission on Davis HWY.  They seemed OK that is all I know.

Does anybody know any trustworthy auto repair shops in the Pensacola area? My girls' saab broke down so she had it towed to autoport at NEX. But they don't have the computer system for saabs so they say they can't help her. The AAA tow truck driver gave her some other places but that could be a shot in the dark. Thanks

The weather is always good in Florida .... We shop at Christmas time in shorts and a T-shirt ..LOL ... decorate our palm trees with lights :) ... I always went to the Naval Air Museum ( take the back lot tour by bus ) and catch an Imax movie. Loved crawling through the two standing forts ....Fort Pickens and Fort Barrancas.....P.S. enjoy your Sailor and Thank them for me....
