Will do Suzi. He's got a good head on his shoulders and will stress of a clean record... Echo sounds awesome! Best wishes to you and yours as well!...

Tell him to keep his record completely clean...it will be a little while before he can get into Echo, but everyone who does loves it. My son tells me it use to be a hotel. You have to request it and may or may not get in. It's fun to see and hear about their progress and increase in freedom after they get situated iin P'cola. Mine took his vehicle there as soon as he could. Taxi service is expensive. Congrats and good luck!

Suzi he's ABH and from talking to him he sounded so happy to be there... I'll have to ask him about the Echo barracks ;)

Gary - what's your son's rate? Mine went through P'cola, too. He's AWV and now at Tinker AFB in OK. He loved P'cola, especially when he was able to move to Echo barracks.

My son arrived here early yesterday morning and he loves it! He's eager to learn everything about the the base and "A" school. We're all so excited and happy for him...

My son just arrived in Pensacola on Saturday...he loves the weather and has said he is awaiting class to start. He is an AO. So happy boot camp is done and I can now follow his start to a Navy career.

My son was in P'cola from August 15 until the end of March when he left for SERE. He is also Aircrew....AWV. It's different for everyone. His roommate was the same rate and graduated A school a month or so before my son, but they left for SERE at the same time.

They can volunteer and get hours towards a volunteer ribbon. My son helped at church soccer games and also at HS football games. They can also help at ceremonies and much more. Tell them to keep their rooms spotless as well as their uniforms...even a thread can get them a ding.

They will also get other duties. Mine was wacthbill coordinator for his duty section and also for his barracks. He LOVED moving over to Echo.
