My Son is at Pensacola. He is an AO (Aviation Ordananceman) and has been there since 02 October. He has not started A school yet. They wait to be "classed up" for several weeks. He will more than likely do some cleaning and other duties. (My Son moved furniture) for a few weeks. They do get moved from phase 1 to phase 2 in about 2-3 weeks, then they are allowed to wear civillian clothes and have more liberty. My son attended ATT school for 1 week which was like a "pre-school" for AO school. He says it is pretty much "Hurry up and wait" most of the time.

Got another call on Thursday.  The Navy came through with orders for five classes.  She going to San Diego for "C" School and then will be stationed there assigned to a new squadron.  She doesn't have to report until July 1st, so she will be coming home next weekend for 15 days and then has a week to report to San Diego.  She will be working in the local recruiting office for the first week she is home as it is "Fleet Week" here that week with an air show that weekend and the Blue Angels will be in town for their first show back!

She called over the weekend and said that they are graduating on June 6th which is a good thing.  The bad thing is the Navy is behind 4 classes on cutting orders.  She has no idea where she may be going or when she will be going there.  Sounds like she will be in Pensacola for a while.  I told her it could be worse,  she could be stuck in the middle of nowhere with nothing around!

I have no idea why they waited so long.  I know while we were down there last month we were talking to different sailors and marines and none of them had too much good to say about going to see the medical people.

On another note, our daughter called last night and they had changed the duty schedule yesterday and that she might get to come home for  2-3 days next weekend.  Well, she called today and said because they changed the schedule so late and they would not accept the chit for leave next weekend.  She explained to them that they changed the schedule but it didn't matter.  They still seem to be in the "screw with their minds" phase down there.  This is one instance where being a Yeoman bit her in the......it was only the Yeomen who had their schedules changed.

Grant, sounds familiar.  My daughter was sick for most of BC and has been sick off and on in Pensacola since she got there in Feb.  Took them 5 weeks to finally give her an antibiotic for a sinus infection.  Anyway, the good news is she just called and is at the top of her class and goes before an advancement board next week!  Hopefully hear in the next couple of weeks where the next stop will be.
