Thanks for the info, I told him to wait until he got there and found out the rules. But nice to know, boy do they ever have made these days.

My son's room was a bed and a set of bunks for a total of 3, he had the bed. Also had his PS3, 24" lcd TV, cell phone. They didn't get much play time as 3x a week he was up at 4:30 for PT, then shower, chow, class. Right now he's home for a couple of weeks then he goes out to Whibdey Island,Wa for C school, then off to Naval joint facility Andrews (Andrews AFB) Md. On my 2 visits to NAS Pensacola the place seemed comfortable, laid back you could say, but still military efficient. Of course NAS Pen is open to the public

My son is at A school in Pensacola and he has his own room with a queen size bed. The only thing he has to share is the head. Not sure who cleans it, BUT I can tell ya it ain't MOM.

I would too, I'm looking forward to seeing the changes at Great lakes in 2 weeks. He will be in IT school. Thanks again Otto.

Mike, my son was at NATTC at the NAS and he stayed in what are basically dorm rooms like you would see at the state university, so I don't know about CID at Corry Station but would assume similar. Life has improved from 47 years ago, but you couldn't convince these kids of that.

How are they housed at Correy Station? Is still bunks like Boot Camp, or do they have personal cubicals. I went to A school 47 years ago, we had bunks.

It really depends on the unit command. My son had his cell phone and laptop at A school. Although, he settled in and after going through his phases, then we sent the items. He was a grad and go, so he didn't have them with him anyhow. Best to check with his LPO or CPO as the rules are constantly changing at P-cola. I'm sure he could have those items, best to find out when.

What personel items are they allowed in IT A school. Can they take video gaming devices, cell phones etc?
