Thanks guys, I should have been more specific. He has been at Corry Station since early April right after PIR. He classed up for A school last week. He was working at the IT Quarterdeck prior to school starting. I wil look for Frank as well.

Todd....... Your son will be stationed at Corry Station, it's in P'cola area, about 15 minutes away from NAS P'cola. My son is a CTN2 stationed there since 9/2008 he completed his A/C schools there in 2009.

We'll be in Pcola Sat AM to see Son, we're only about 6 hours away in Central Florida so it's not that bad of a trip

Hi Dan C. Congrats to your son on his decision to serve and welcome to the "club" of Navy dads.

My daughter "graduated" A school in P'cola a few weeks ago. We had originally planned on attending the graduation but she discouraged us from making the long trip. We visited her after she arrived at P'cola (and phased up so she could leave the station) and we really enjoyed the time there. If you get a chance to visit, you'll enjoy the Museum and the lighthouse and the many other sites and attrctions around P'cola.

Although the A school graduation is a significant accomplishment for the sailor, she decribed it as a rather "simple" ceremony. The PIR at Great Lakes is very special and much more ceremonial. She told me that she would rather that we use the time and travel expense to visit her later on at her permanent station when she got there.

Hope that all goes well in boot for your son.

My son just started at GLRTC and will go to Pcola for A school. Is family allowed to attend A school graduation?

David R: Thanks, that is what we figured. Our son is CTR. He and his recruiter pretty much told us the same thing as you are saying and as have other CT family members. I will check on N4m as well.
