Todd, welcome aboard..........
My son is a CTN2 stationed there at Corry. You can have the wife check on the navy4moms site, they have a real active cryptology group as well as a group for CTN's. The only advice/info I can give is don't expect your son to tell you much about what he does. Mine tells about the BS, having duty and what he does off duty.......but the duty hours activities are pretty much of blank.

Grant arrived in Pensacola 23 March 10 he's waiting to class up, it looks like it will be late April or May for ABH class's to begin. Is there others awaiting ABH school that just arrived?

My son, Alex, is in Pensacola right now...He was doing BS (barracks support) and has now gone onto something else (forgot what). I guess that his A school for AO is supposed to be starting up in May, or June.

Thanks to all the respondants. Great information. Both the sailor and her Dad feel better, at least for now. I'll cancel the call to Rick West the CNO.

Raymond,
I can give you a unique perspective into the state of the Navy and our job situation. I am a recruiter in Missouri and as of August, this year's jobs were gone. The recession has put a strain us that has created a bottleneck in these schools. The instructors can only handle so many students at a time and there isn't enough staff to get them through as quickly as we would like.

I understand the frustration of waiting to class up, I was there myself when we opened NATTC Pensacola, waiting to start A school. She can take advantage of this time to prepare herself for class, and enjoy some of the time off she gets. I personally would get dive certified and dive the Oriskany we sunk out there.

One of the Flight Engineers from my last squadron works down there at aircrew school. He has kids wating 4 months before they start aircrew. Just reassure her that life is good, and she is still earning a paycheck in America's Navy. Good luck to you and your daughter sir. Take care

What School is your Sailor waiting for? Is she going to aircrew or rescue swimmer or directly to A-School? I couldn't find #'s for the NASC POCs.

My daughter sat in Pensacola since November 8th only to class up in February. Relax, theres alot more recruits than there should be right now and things are going slowly.
