Joe, Jr
Yea, hoping Joe III was graduating the same date was one of my first thoughts when John called to tell me about his grad date. But , I didn't figure that would be the case. I'll give you a call when I get down there and by then I'll know which direction we're headed after grad.

Yea, it was pretty wet there. My son told me all about it. Lived in Florida for several years, so I know how those GOM storms can be. I was there last month and it was pretty nice, although humid (as usual).

Otto: Pensacola is great as long as no storms come in. I was there this weekend the water was warm and temps in the 80's. My son did the A scholl graduation 14 years ago but it was low key.

yes staying at the Lodge. He grads Fri Oct 2, so I'll keep you posted. He wanted me to come down on Wed to help him get his stuff packed and loaded in my car...he said "Dad, we might take a road trip if I go to JAX", so we'll see what happens

you've got nothing to lose by going to p-cola this time of the year. the crowds should be a little less and as long the weather holds i dont see how you can go wrong. my son is through with a- school but i was always wondering what it would be like. why dont you give us a good post and tell us what your weekend is like. Are yougoing to stay at the navy lodge?

He should get orders sometime this week. I know they usually get their orders within two to three weeks of grad. I haven't been to an A school grad at P-cola, so was just wondering what the ceremony is like. I'm sure low key. He has put in a request, but yes, I know from past experience to expect the unexpected. Guess we'll find out soon.

the navy doesn't change. it seems that no matter where you are just when you think you know whats coming down, they do something else. its kinda just like life, except a lot faster. does your son know where he's going to be? Expect the unexpected!

Headed to P-cola for graduation ceremonies soon, what should I expect? Ceremonies held in the mega Bldg or outside?

My guy is 1/2 way through boot camp... thanks for letting me read your posts. I write to my son that I am on Navy Dads, and he thinks that is so funny.
