ReF: Uniforms
According to my son, the military (in all their intelligence) adds the cost of the uniforms into their pay..........then deducts it back out. Makes no sense to me, but then again I was old 11B sgt (72-77).

Robert:

All of the things that Sandy mentioned are true. Any problems with the police will result in this call. Also fighting might be a reason.

Just have them stay out of trouble.

its a little different when you volunteer and when you have the draft, but these days I feel pretty sure that a chat wouldn't hurt. I've written my congressional representative several times in the past year and have enjoyed reading the form letter they sent in a reply!

I'm not sure why or when the uniform issue changed but a co-worker of mine said they had to pay for their uniforms when he was in and that was back in the early/mid 80's. In other news, Holly said that she is supposed to class up tomorrow but she'll let me know if it changes. She also said that 300 sailors classed up last Friday but a bunch more had their classes cancelled/delayed. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it works out for her.

My daughter told me they had to pay for their uniforms, which enraged me, my first uniorms were paid for by the Army then we were given a uniform allowance that would pay for subsequent ones. We ask our kids to serve, pay them a low wage and make them pay for teh uniforms we demand the wear? I can understand that they receive a clothing allowance to pay for subsequent uniforms, someone give me the reasoning behind this, if not a letter to my congressman and senator is in order.

My son Cameron told me that his pay check was $300. lower he thought maybe the students have to pay for food. Any one hear about this.
