She said they were classing up this week. Yesterday I believe. She loves it there so far. After boot camp it's pretty darn nice. A comfortable bed in a single room and so far a head to herself. I wonder if they group their quarters in conjunction with their particular school?

Has Holly started A school yet? What does she think of P-Cola?

That's interesting about all of the different services being there. My son wants to go in for Master-at-Arms and if he gets it his A School is at Lackland AFB in Texas. It actually makes sense to do it that way, which is what I find surprising. Ha Ha!

Received a call later last night, she is at P-Cola, assigned a room she will keep all the way through A school (CTR) her original orders said school started August 10th but she is telling me now it may be a couple of months or more. She said there are folks from every branch of service their and also all ranks. She met a Petty officer who will most likley be in her class as he is changing rates. She was givien a packet of rules and so forth but the instructions they are receiving don't always go along with what is in the packet. Such as getting her car, she said the packet said third phase (week 4) but she was told at briefing 2nd phase (10 days) so when she has her exact address tomorrow she will let me know what else she found out as I will need to driver her car down from Missouri, about 12 hours. She checked into either remodeled or new barracks with single rooms and a head shared by two people. I had to be a Seargent in the Army before I got that! Enough rambling for now will be checking this group now as PIR is history.

Molly made it to P-Cola today but I missed her call, I was on the golf course. Shr said they were getting ready for lunch then they would be assigned rooms and briefed. When in RTC she told me her class was going to start August 10th so I don't know if she will be in a holding area are get a room that she will stay in the entire time, she will let me know. She will call later with an address I can overnight her phone to, because as she said in her message, I love her soo much!. They do wrap us around their fingers.

Good morning all, I'm glad for those of you who can make it to Pensacola for a visit. The photo's I've seen online sure make it look beautiful. Unfortunately between my work schedule covering other people's vacation's and Holly's short A school I just don't see a visit to Pcola happening for me. On the other hand there are lot's of great places to visit so once she gets her new assignment I might be able to go somewhere else really cool. (That's assuming Holly wants old duffer showing up) hehehehe!

Hey Joe,
Can't wait to get to P-cola. Haven't been on base since before Ivan, so I'm anxious to see the "new" Mega Bldg at P-cola. And they tell me the museum has changed a great deal as well. I dread the drive up from NPR, but seeing my parents and John on the same trip will be great. John finally classed up this week, so things should start moving for him. We are going to the USS Alabama as well. I have a picture of John on deck with one of the AA guns when he was 13, and he said then that going into the Navy was all he wanted to do, so we are going to take a picture, this time in his uniform, so that should be very cool. I go down on the 5th (Aug) and be there about ten days. I'll stay in touch.

ait tran from P-cola to St Louis $89..not a bad way to go maybe I had checked into flights to go see my son in P-cola. Have family in Tampa area so I'm flying Southwest round trip to Tampa and driving to P-cola. The flight round trip was cheaper than I could drive one way.
