Does anyone know if graduates have to report to their A school after graduation straigt away. My son is going to A school at Great Lakes and I'm wondering if he reports in first or goes on liberty and reports in on Monday?

he has to report right after PIR
Does this mean he will get liberty after check in.
he should.....he'll have to be back at base that evening, but after he gets checked in after PIR you should be able to pick him up
Paul I do thank you for your help. The wife and I were getting woried, we are flying from Vegas and have our daughter flying from Texas. Thanks again.
Since his A school is in GL there is a good chance you could have him for the whole weekend. My youngest son was AECF ET and his A was in GL, so we were able to pick him up around 5PM Friday and he went to his A school "ship" on Sunday evening, very nice, but he had to call to "muster" at designated times. That doesn't always happen, but chances are good. :)
My daughter's PIR was this past Friday (8/26), she had to report in right after the graduation and had liberty about 4 hrs later. She did have the weekend from 0600 to 2200.
my son has A school in GL after PIR will he be able to have his phone yet.how long does it take for him to check in
Robert, it took my daughter about 4 hours to report in at GL. No phone until after they leave recruit training command, he'll have to use a pay phone till then.
thank you John for the info cant wait to see him AND CONGRATS TO YOUR DAUGHTER
