Navydads Political Talk Rules and Guidelines

1. Whether Republican or Democrat we are all on the same team - The Navy's
2. Name calling or threats to any member because of their political stance will not be tolerated
3. Respect each others political views and debate them in a civil manner
4. Only a healthy debate will be allowed on this site
5. With the rules in place please feel free to join in on the debate

John and Luis have set a wonderful example of how we should debate things in a civil manner. I just want to be up front with everyone who participates in this discussion that I will not let this get out of hand. I want to warn everyone that this site is here to benefit us with our children's journey through the Navy not to slam each others political beliefs.

That being said I do understand that the next commander in chief will be relevant to us Navy parents. I encourage healthy debates when it comes to politics. It's what makes this country so great. We can have our own beliefs and we get to vote for whom we want in office. All I ask is for everyone to debate in a healthy manner not in a negative manner. Express your views and let others express theirs. I do not want this to be a negative response to this candidate or a negative response to that candidate. We all know that political talks can quickly become shouting matches and this is not the site for it.

Whichever candidate wins this election will be the one that we need to stand behind and support because this person will be our children's commander in chief. In the military it doesn't come down to whether you are a Republican or Democrat. In a time of war it comes down to protect your brothers in arms no matter what branch of military they are in or what their political, religious beliefs are. Navy, Marines, Airforce, Army and Coast Guard when it comes down to it will fight side by side to defend this great country's freedoms no matter where they come from.

Sincerely, Navydads Creator

Thank you, Bob yes we have all paid some kinda price for political correctness. now some our brave troops have paid the ultimate price.
at ft. Hood just think of how these family's must feel. then the so called i don't know if he is a terrorist stuff has started and is continuing. all in the name to not piss off a Muslim .
How about the latest news, the deliboma has given the ok to bring some of the good ole boys home to New York to stand trail , with us citizenship wights. does this chap any ones hide except me ?
Now the world will stop burning our flag and will once again love us, heck it might even stop the war.
So i wonder how is all the new hope and change working out for the people who still love the Allohbama ?

I love the cartoon, Rex. "Political Correctness" has cost our nation so much.

No profiling was needed in the Ft. Hood case -- this guy was very public; at the very least he should have been sent to Korea in lieu of Iraq or Afghanistan, on the same principle as the 442nd serving in Italy.

For those who forget, profiling is stuff like "driving while black", not when there is probable cause. I'm no lawyer, but it seems there was enough evidence to swear out a search warrant that would comply with the 4th amendment.

I know that this is going to sound like profiling, but, should our Armed services be asking devout Muslims to deploy to a Muslim land with the distinct possibility that they may have to fire upon their "brother"? When we enter the service of our country, we take an oath. We all know that the oath requires us to act in a manner that may conflict with inner convictions. I live in a Christian nation. I know that Barry O. has decreed otherwise, but, he doesn't know the constitution he swore to uphold. Aside from that, because of my up-bringing and convictions, my oath of service was God first, country second. Because I live in a Christian country, I did not have any conflict with my service to God and my service to my country. Obviously, there is a "real" conflict for people of the Muslim religion. Just like the Japanese Americans in WWII, they have to make a decision. Will they keep their oath to their country, or will their allegience to their heritage take first place? We seem to have forgotten that the young soldier who tossed grenades into the tents of sleeping soldiers in Iraq was also a Muslim. Take a look back at that.

Yes indeed, gotta love our Commander in Chief

As my favorite conservative icon John Adams said, "Facts are stubborn things; and whatever may be our wishes, our inclinations, or the dictates of our passion, they cannot alter the state of facts and evidence." I don't care if my nephew's CO and chiefs are liberal or conservative, I very much care if they are living in the real world.

"In his fiscal year 2010 budget unveiled Thursday, Obama proposed a 15 percent increase to VA’s budget, from $97.7 billion this fiscal year to $112.8 billion for the fiscal year beginning Oct. 1, 2009 on top of the $1.4 billion already set aside for VA projects in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.
His proposal for the agency would fund a radical overhaul of VA’s technological infrastructure and aims to eliminate an average six-month wait to have disability claims processed. As of September 2008, 330,000 Iraq and Afghanistan war veterans have filed disability claims to the VA, according to the agency. Yet, 54,000 are still waiting for the VA to confirm their claims were received. The average wait for a disability claim is more than six months.
Additionally, according to VA’s Inspector General, 25 percent of the VA’s 5.5 million patients have to wait more than 30 days for a doctor’s appointment.
Obama’s budget proposal would also pay for a program to provide healthcare to non-disabled veterans who earn more than $30,000 a year. Under the administration of former President George W. Bush, those veterans did not quality for VA administered health care. The Obama administration said that by 2013 about 500,000 of the qualifying “Priority 8″ veterans would become eligible for the benefits."

And in the face of an obvious shift of budget priorities to help vets, considering and dismissing a stupid idea is a disgrace.

I hope every one has a great veterans day !
Always remember freedom is not free.

Unbelievable President got to love him !

THIS HAS GOT TO BE THE MOST OUTRAGEOUS STATEMENT EVER MADE BY A

PUBLIC OFFICIAL LET ALONE BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES. AND

THIS GUY IS OUR "COMMANDER IN CHIEF". HE IS A DISGRACE.

HERE IS HIS RESPONSE WHEN HE BACKED OFF FROM HIS DECISION TO LET THE

MILITARY PAY FOR THEIR WAR INJURIES.

Bad press, including major mockery of the plan by comedian Jon

Stewart, led to President Obama abandoning his proposal to require

veterans carry private health insurance to cover the estimated $540

million annual cost to the federal government of treatment for injuries

to military personnel received during their tours on active duty. The

President admitted that he was puzzled by the magnitude of the

opposition to his proposal.

"Look, it's an all volunteer force," Obama complained. "Nobody Made

these guys go to war. They had to have known and accepted the risks. Now

they whine about bearing the costs of their choice? It doesn't

compute.." "I thought these were people who were proud to sacrifice for

their country, "Obama continued. "I wasn't asking for blood, just money.

With the country facing the worst financial crisis in its history, I'd

have thought that the patriotic thing to do would be to try to help

reduce the nation's deficit. I guess I underestimated the selfishness

of some of my fellow Americans."

Please pass this on to every one including every vet and their

families whom you know.

How in the world did a person with this mind set become our leader?

I didn't vote for him!!!

REMEMBER THIS STATEMENT... "Nobody made these guys go to war. They

had to have known and accepted the risks. Now they whine about bearing

the costs of their choice?

If this A** thinks he will ever get another vote from an Active Duty,

Reserve, National Guard service member or veteran of a military service

he ought to think it over. If you or a family member is or has served

their country please pass this to them. Please pass this to everyone.

I'm guessing that other than the 20-25 percent hardcore liberals in

the US will agree that this is just another example why this is the

worst president in American history. Remind everyone over and over how

this man thinks, while he bows to the Saudi Arabian king.
