1. Whether Republican or Democrat we are all on the same team - The Navy's
2. Name calling or threats to any member because of their political stance will not be tolerated
3. Respect each others political views and debate them in a civil manner
4. Only a healthy debate will be allowed on this site
5. With the rules in place please feel free to join in on the debate
John and Luis have set a wonderful example of how we should debate things in a civil manner. I just want to be up front with everyone who participates in this discussion that I will not let this get out of hand. I want to warn everyone that this site is here to benefit us with our children's journey through the Navy not to slam each others political beliefs.
That being said I do understand that the next commander in chief will be relevant to us Navy parents. I encourage healthy debates when it comes to politics. It's what makes this country so great. We can have our own beliefs and we get to vote for whom we want in office. All I ask is for everyone to debate in a healthy manner not in a negative manner. Express your views and let others express theirs. I do not want this to be a negative response to this candidate or a negative response to that candidate. We all know that political talks can quickly become shouting matches and this is not the site for it.
Whichever candidate wins this election will be the one that we need to stand behind and support because this person will be our children's commander in chief. In the military it doesn't come down to whether you are a Republican or Democrat. In a time of war it comes down to protect your brothers in arms no matter what branch of military they are in or what their political, religious beliefs are. Navy, Marines, Airforce, Army and Coast Guard when it comes down to it will fight side by side to defend this great country's freedoms no matter where they come from.
Sincerely, Navydads Creator

Greg's joke was at least funny, whether you think the facts are right or not.
I vote for that! No Government intervention would be a blessing!
Hey Wayne, I agree with you on one point; ad hominem rhetorical attacks on the occupier of the White House are unnecessary. His record of action provides more than ample proof that he is the worst thing to happen to this country in history. ;^)
Libertarian: Less Government. More Freedom.
Hi Wayne,
I never claimed to own the military or country music, lol
No-one wants to own anyone here. A joke is just a joke and laughter is good for all of us. If we can't laugh at ourselves then we are the poorest people of all. Lighten up and enjoy life a little. Remember while we are still free people for now, we do have the right to express our opinion in this country, even if it does not meet your approval. Have a nice day.
You know, guys, just because you are a military family, that doesn't mean you have to be so painfully right-wing. The right wing in this country, contrary to their own belief, do not own the military. You do not own patriotism or religion. You do not own the flag, or god, or the NFL or even NASCAR. Hell, you don't even own country music. You do not own this country, and you do not own me.
Time to pull your ego down from that high horse of yours and realize that we are one country. We are all Americans, whether our name is Johnson, Sanchez, Patel, or Hershowitz; whether we're christian, jew, muslim, buddhist, hindu, or atheist; whether we are democrat or republican, libertarian or independent; black, white, yellow, red, or lily-white;environmentalist or polluter.
I'm tired of these lame ad hominem attacks on the president. Please start learning about policy issues and the legislative process and stop being parrots for Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and Bill O'Reilly.
The world would be a better place if you put just a little effort into taking into account the fact that we are one country instead of trying to make some of us "the other."
Start reading.
A woman from Los Angeles, who was a tree hugger, a liberal Democrat, and an anti-hunter, purchased a piece of timberland near Colville, WA. There was a large tree on one of the highest points in the tract. She wanted a good view of the natural splendor of her land so she started to climb the big tree. As she neared the top she encountered a spotted owl that attacked her. In her haste to escape, the woman slid down the tree to the ground and got many splinters in her crotch. In considerable pain, she hurried to a local ER to see a doctor. She told him she was an environmentalist, a democrat, and an anti-hunter and how she came to get all the splinters. The doctor listened to her story with great patience and then told her to go wait in the examining room and he would see if he could help her. She sat and waited three hours before the doctor reappeared. The angry woman demanded, "What took you so long?" He smiled and then told her, "Well, I had to get permits from the Environmental Protection Agency, the Forest Service, and the Bureau of Land Management before I could remove old-growth timber from a "recreational area" so close to a waste treatment facility. I'm sorry, but due to ObamaCare they turned me down."
amen Obama - Romney What is the difference?
