Navydads Political Talk Rules and Guidelines

1. Whether Republican or Democrat we are all on the same team - The Navy's
2. Name calling or threats to any member because of their political stance will not be tolerated
3. Respect each others political views and debate them in a civil manner
4. Only a healthy debate will be allowed on this site
5. With the rules in place please feel free to join in on the debate

John and Luis have set a wonderful example of how we should debate things in a civil manner. I just want to be up front with everyone who participates in this discussion that I will not let this get out of hand. I want to warn everyone that this site is here to benefit us with our children's journey through the Navy not to slam each others political beliefs.

That being said I do understand that the next commander in chief will be relevant to us Navy parents. I encourage healthy debates when it comes to politics. It's what makes this country so great. We can have our own beliefs and we get to vote for whom we want in office. All I ask is for everyone to debate in a healthy manner not in a negative manner. Express your views and let others express theirs. I do not want this to be a negative response to this candidate or a negative response to that candidate. We all know that political talks can quickly become shouting matches and this is not the site for it.

Whichever candidate wins this election will be the one that we need to stand behind and support because this person will be our children's commander in chief. In the military it doesn't come down to whether you are a Republican or Democrat. In a time of war it comes down to protect your brothers in arms no matter what branch of military they are in or what their political, religious beliefs are. Navy, Marines, Airforce, Army and Coast Guard when it comes down to it will fight side by side to defend this great country's freedoms no matter where they come from.

Sincerely, Navydads Creator

mminent Danger Pay Changes
February 07, 2012 | Kate
1

A change to the way that Imminent Danger Pay (IDP) is calculated has created a small uproar amongst affected troops and their family members. IDP is authorized for military members who are serving in areas specifically designated to receive this allowance. The change will affect very few people, but there seems to be much misunderstanding.

Previously, IDP was paid for the entire month, even if the service member was only in a qualifying area for one day of the month. Under the new rules, IDP will be paid on a daily basis at the rate of $7.50 per day. If the service member is in a qualifying area for the entire month, they will receive the full month’s allowance of $225.00. This change went into effect on 1 February 2012.

In addition, IDP will be paid at the full monthly rate for any service member who meets any of these criteria:

Subject to hostile fire or explosion of hostile mines;
On duty in an area in which he was in imminent danger of being exposed to hostile fire or explosion of hostile mines and in which, during the period he was on duty in that area, other members of the uniformed services were subject to hostile fire or explosion of hostile mines;
Killed, injured, or wounded by hostile fire, explosion of a hostile mine, or any other hostile action; or
On duty in a foreign area in which he was subject to the threat of physical harm or imminent danger on the basis of civil insurrection, civil war, terrorism, or wartime conditions.

As you can see, the change will only impact people who are traveling in or out of a designated Imminent Danger Pay area in a given month. Service members who are serving in a designated area for the entire month will not see any change to their total allowance paid.

The only fear I have for the middle class, is if this clown gets re-elected.  He will finish what he has begun. The destruction of the middle class.

Don't _blame_ GE!  GE is doing *exactly* what corporations are *supposed* to do -- maximize profits.  That said, I agree that folks should think about their next business interaction with the company.  The almighty $$$ is the best way to send a corporation an clear and unambiguous signal that the consumer does not approve of their behavior.

As for GE not paying taxes... please, that's a red herring.  No corporation *pays* taxes, they *collect* taxes by increasing the price they demand for goods & services.  It's the customers that *pay* the taxes.  By using every accounting trick available, GE minimized the cost to their customers and improved their profitability for their shareholders.

We, as a society, have become so deluded by the damnable "Socialist talking points", that we've forgotten that the big corporations and the captains of industry are responsible for so much of the American way of life.  The Progressives are like spoil't children of wealthy parents -- contemptible for their station and ignorant of how they got where they are.

oh and...

Merry Christmas! :^)

Thanks Jeff, you're a "real" American....give Barrack our Best !!

General Electric is planning to move its 115-year-old X-ray division
from Waukesha , Wis. , to Beijing . In addition to moving the headquarters,
the company will invest $2 billion in China and train more than 65
engineers and create six research centers. This is the same GE that made
$5.1 billion in the United States last year. but paid no taxes-the
same company that employs more people overseas than it does in the united
States .
So let me get this straight. President Obama appointed GE Chairman
Jeff Immelt to head his commission on job creation (job czar).
Immelt is supposed to help create jobs. I guess the President forgot
to tell him in which country he was supposed to be creating those jobs.
If this doesn't show you the total lack of leadership of this
President, I don't know what does. Please pass this information to others
and
think about it before you buy a GE product.

Let me get this straight . . .
We're going to be "gifted" with a health care
plan we are
forced to purchase and
fined if we don't,
Which purportedly covers at least

ten million more people,
without adding
a single new doctor,
but provides for
16,000 new IRS agents,
written by a committee whose chairman
says he
doesn't understand it,
passed by a Congress that didn't read it but
exempted themselves from it,
and signed by a Dumbo President who
 smokes,
with
funding administered by a treasury chief who
didn't pay his taxes,
for which we'll be
taxed for four years before any
benefits take effect
,
by a government which has

already bankrupted Social Security and Medicare,
all to be overseen by a surgeon general
who is
obese,
and
financed by a country that's broke!!!!!

'What the hell could possibly go wrong?'

SMOKE AND MIRRORS

The numbers don't lie. The organized Disrupt Wall Street and Destroy Capitalism Movement is just a ploy to distract the public eye from the real problem. Our Government has grown way to big and out of control since the anointed one took office. Since the current gang of thugs took over the the White House, our yearly deficit has been One Trillion Dollars larger than any previous deficit. The largest Budget item each year is money for the poor, not the military. They spent $901,000,000,000 for the Dept of Health and Human services in 2010 and the three years Obama has controlled the White House he has tripled the amount of money the Labor Dept. is budgeted. How has this helped the poor or those looking for work? It has not helped . It has paid off his Union support and moved us toward Socialism. The US Government IS the top 1% and they are stealing money from you every day and passing the blame to some unseen monster on Wall Street. Profit is not a sin, and the king has no clothes folks. Wake up folks, no corporation can come into your home and take anything from you. The Government, However can pass a law and take what ever it wants. The numbers don,t lie. We have to reign in the spending habits of all these power drunk idiots in our Government on both sides and stop listening to the propaganda machine press. Vote to curb Government growth in the next election.

US Budgets from 2008 thru 2011 in Millions

            Revenue    US Spending     Deficit
2008    2,523,991    2,982,544         -458,553
2009    2,104,989    3,517,677       -1,412,688
2010    2,162,724    3,456,213       -1,293,489
2011    2,173,700    3,818,819       -1,645,119

When 51 % of the people are waiting for a Government handout instead of looking for work. I agree we have been spiraling downward since the NEW DEAL. Americans dependent on Government plan
