Navydads Political Talk Rules and Guidelines

1. Whether Republican or Democrat we are all on the same team - The Navy's
2. Name calling or threats to any member because of their political stance will not be tolerated
3. Respect each others political views and debate them in a civil manner
4. Only a healthy debate will be allowed on this site
5. With the rules in place please feel free to join in on the debate

John and Luis have set a wonderful example of how we should debate things in a civil manner. I just want to be up front with everyone who participates in this discussion that I will not let this get out of hand. I want to warn everyone that this site is here to benefit us with our children's journey through the Navy not to slam each others political beliefs.

That being said I do understand that the next commander in chief will be relevant to us Navy parents. I encourage healthy debates when it comes to politics. It's what makes this country so great. We can have our own beliefs and we get to vote for whom we want in office. All I ask is for everyone to debate in a healthy manner not in a negative manner. Express your views and let others express theirs. I do not want this to be a negative response to this candidate or a negative response to that candidate. We all know that political talks can quickly become shouting matches and this is not the site for it.

Whichever candidate wins this election will be the one that we need to stand behind and support because this person will be our children's commander in chief. In the military it doesn't come down to whether you are a Republican or Democrat. In a time of war it comes down to protect your brothers in arms no matter what branch of military they are in or what their political, religious beliefs are. Navy, Marines, Airforce, Army and Coast Guard when it comes down to it will fight side by side to defend this great country's freedoms no matter where they come from.

Sincerely, Navydads Creator

I would like to know more about Jon Huntsman; the others I feel like already know more than I want...
Special note about Ron Paul: Does he remind anyone else of Pat Paulsen, who used to do skits about his presidential campaigns? Please, someone else remember so I don't feel old and dusty...

Just take this last item: In the last two years we have accumulated national debt at a rate more than 27 times as fast as during the rest of our entire nation ' s history.  Over 27 times as fast. Metaphorically speaking, if you are driving in the right lane doing 65 MPH and a car rockets past you in the left lane.   27 times faster, it would be doing 7,555 MPH!

Hi Mike,

I'm a strong supporter of civil liberties, as long as those liberties don't create an obligation on anyone else!  Because as soon as one person's 'liberties' require another person to do something or pay for something or limit the freedoms of others, it no longer fits the definition of a liberty -- it becomes an imposition.  And if an Organization for the Forceful Imposition of Will (OFIW) ever did arise, it would be the duty of the ACLU to oppose it.

I wonder how they reconcile that within the various departments?

Comment by Mike Stark on May 26, 2011 at 1:08pm

You guys sound like card carrying members of the ACLU....Welcome to the Good Guys(TM)!

Seriously, this is one areas that liberals and libertarians should be united against elites who consider rule of law optional. I hope this will apply against elites of both parties.

yeah...this was one of those cases whether it was Code Pink or Code Polka-Dot, the results were the same and we need to rationalize the need for law enforcement to those rights guaranteed by our founding documents and principles......
Comment by ctyankee on May 26, 2011 at 12:04pm

8+ minutes to learn it was Code Pink -- had I know I've supported the arrests of...  {GUFFAW}  NO NO NO!!!  That was a bad joke --  I apologize, but y'all know how I enjoy the shock factor of a quick quip :^)  ... but seriously... -->

While I may not care for Code Pink's views...  What the hell is going on that they were simply arrested and carted away?  Has the Constitution really become so trampled that law enforcement is no longer tolerant of vocal protest?  Is the only acceptable means petitioning redress of grievance a letter that will be processed by some unknown staffer?

Are we now required to wait until controversial matters become the rule of law before we challenge them?  We all know how many laws are overturned even when the unconstitutionality of those laws is prima facie apparent!

We're all praying for you Rex!  Posting in your honor here bud !!

See what happens when you read that vial, subversive document called the Constitution---

The only text message I want to read from Obama is: "I quit."

Oh, ouch, did I really say that?  I can't imagine a worse example of the Federal Government run amok!

I can only hope:

1) This is a hoax / bad joke in poor taste.

2) The Cell phone manufacturers will refuse to go along with it.

3) Someone in the Congress will take a stand against this.

4) Someone with interest will take this to the SCOTUS.
