1. Whether Republican or Democrat we are all on the same team - The Navy's
2. Name calling or threats to any member because of their political stance will not be tolerated
3. Respect each others political views and debate them in a civil manner
4. Only a healthy debate will be allowed on this site
5. With the rules in place please feel free to join in on the debate
John and Luis have set a wonderful example of how we should debate things in a civil manner. I just want to be up front with everyone who participates in this discussion that I will not let this get out of hand. I want to warn everyone that this site is here to benefit us with our children's journey through the Navy not to slam each others political beliefs.
That being said I do understand that the next commander in chief will be relevant to us Navy parents. I encourage healthy debates when it comes to politics. It's what makes this country so great. We can have our own beliefs and we get to vote for whom we want in office. All I ask is for everyone to debate in a healthy manner not in a negative manner. Express your views and let others express theirs. I do not want this to be a negative response to this candidate or a negative response to that candidate. We all know that political talks can quickly become shouting matches and this is not the site for it.
Whichever candidate wins this election will be the one that we need to stand behind and support because this person will be our children's commander in chief. In the military it doesn't come down to whether you are a Republican or Democrat. In a time of war it comes down to protect your brothers in arms no matter what branch of military they are in or what their political, religious beliefs are. Navy, Marines, Airforce, Army and Coast Guard when it comes down to it will fight side by side to defend this great country's freedoms no matter where they come from.
Sincerely, Navydads Creator

I agree , However free peoples and free markets are better for the world. We are guilty of turning a blind eye to thecruelty of these tyrants for decades. The principle of freedom is still worth while. Even if the US does not benefit finacially from the fall of the Egypian Government we will be a better world with free peoples in the Middle East.
My brother's two boys enlisted in the Navy in the late 80's both 6 ft plus guys. One just got out with 24 years of service 2010 and the other got pushed out because on his second enlistment he couldn't keep his weight down to the Navy's standards. Thanks Paul for your article : )
Has anyone noticed what is happening in Egypt and the rest of the Middle East. Riots in the streets and people calling for freedom. Bush believed that just one working democracy in the Middle East would cause a ripple effect and bring change. The press destroyed him for that belief. He is looking like a genius now if you ask me. All the counties in the Middle East are ruled by third world harsh dictators and we turn a blind eye and stand with them at the UN and call them friends. The people there now have real hope! And it is because of what GW Bush did. You wont hear any good news on the local media because it is not apart of their template. Bush bash and the anti war mantra.
Unbelievable! -- 'nuf said.
"Gentlemen, you're everything we've come to expect from years of government service. Now I want to to look right here while we administer an eye test... {RED FLASH}" -- Zed, as portrayed by Rip Torn in "Men in Black"
these are probably enough to tell you whats going on in the Navy right now....the old joke about the difference between reality and theory seems to apply

What is our problem we ask,
Perhaps we should look at 1) The House of Representatives, the Senate, the Presidency and oh yes the Supreme Court. How many members of those bodies have read the U S Constitution and of those that have read understand it. Most do not even know the first rthree words of the preamble. They ae "WE THE PEOPLE", Not I the President, not I the congressman, not I the Senator and not I the Supreme Court Justice. Ithink they should all have to take a course on the Constitution and take a test ..the passing score must be a 4.0.
