Navydads Political Talk Rules and Guidelines

1. Whether Republican or Democrat we are all on the same team - The Navy's
2. Name calling or threats to any member because of their political stance will not be tolerated
3. Respect each others political views and debate them in a civil manner
4. Only a healthy debate will be allowed on this site
5. With the rules in place please feel free to join in on the debate

John and Luis have set a wonderful example of how we should debate things in a civil manner. I just want to be up front with everyone who participates in this discussion that I will not let this get out of hand. I want to warn everyone that this site is here to benefit us with our children's journey through the Navy not to slam each others political beliefs.

That being said I do understand that the next commander in chief will be relevant to us Navy parents. I encourage healthy debates when it comes to politics. It's what makes this country so great. We can have our own beliefs and we get to vote for whom we want in office. All I ask is for everyone to debate in a healthy manner not in a negative manner. Express your views and let others express theirs. I do not want this to be a negative response to this candidate or a negative response to that candidate. We all know that political talks can quickly become shouting matches and this is not the site for it.

Whichever candidate wins this election will be the one that we need to stand behind and support because this person will be our children's commander in chief. In the military it doesn't come down to whether you are a Republican or Democrat. In a time of war it comes down to protect your brothers in arms no matter what branch of military they are in or what their political, religious beliefs are. Navy, Marines, Airforce, Army and Coast Guard when it comes down to it will fight side by side to defend this great country's freedoms no matter where they come from.

Sincerely, Navydads Creator

Ctyankee great comment !
"I may not like some of the things the Right represents, but I loathe & fear *EVERYTHING* the Left desires from me or intends to impose on me" Kinda like what is going on now, we can see what the left has done and what there plan are now. The left has always been nuts.what happen to The good ones like JFK ? who loved the country and stood up for good and not evil that is going on today.

I have always voted for people on both sides of the political arena, all my life. its like the old saying Vote for the evil that you know not the evil you don't know.

So how is the hope and change working out for every one ?

Hi Mike,

I've gotta tease you with a hypothetical... I don't particularly like the Left or the Right in large doses, which is why I'm a strong Libertarian/Objectivist, but let me ask you this:

Which is better? Right wing tyrants or Left wing tyrants?

The Right wing will build a clean, sterile, conformist yet productive society while persecuting a small subset of individuals.

The Left wing will build a dirty, corrupt, subversive and decrepit society while persecuting entire families and classes of people.

IMHO, neither is particularly appealing to me. I'd probably be silenced by either regime, but at least my family would survive a Right-wing oppression. I may not like some of the things the Right represents, but I loathe & fear *EVERYTHING* the Left desires from me or intends to impose on me.

Everyone is welcome to chime in :^)

"You scare me because I do not know how you paid for your expensive Ivy League education and your upscale lifestyle and housing with no visible signs of support."

umm..his grandparents who raised him worked for a living. And after law school, shocker of shocker, he went to work for a law firm. Even civil rights lawyers make money. Plus he married a woman who has had a well-compensated career. No visible means of support, my ass.

"You scare me because you did not spend the formative years of youth growing up in America and culturally you are not an American."

He spent 4 of 18 years growing up in Indonesia. Is this guy claiming that anyone who spends so much time oversees growing up is un-american, and would he apply the same standard to military children living in Germany or Japan?

Or is Hawaii not a legitimate part of the US? Which is it?

Seriously, I've heard the right talking about who is a "real American" and who isn't my entire adult life, from James Watts "There are liberals and Americans" during the Reagan administration right up to Dinesh D'Souza's idea that Obama is influenced (via genetics, implicitly, since he never knew his father) by Kenyan anti-colonialism -- and that a former Speaker would give such ideas serious thought. I have had enough of this. It needs to stop.

Since Steny Hoyer is my Congresscritter, "Speaker Hoyer" has a nice ring to it! Of course, Pelosi is a Marylander by birth as well, so we are well represented in the hierarchy.

Some Dems Won't Commit to Re-Upping Pelosi as Speaker
Monday, September 27, 2010
By Judson Berger

Print WASHINGTON — Even if Democrats retain a slim majority in the House this November, Speaker Nancy Pelosi could have an insurrection on her hands from moderate Democrats looking for a change in leadership.

If you are looking for something to fear

From listening to Newt, you'd never know
1. The imam at the Islamic Center is one who has gone abroad at President Bush's request to represent the Islam that exists peacefully within American law.
2. That there is no shred of evidence that Justice Breyer and Kagan support sharia law in any way. Or anyone else in the Federal judiciary, for that matter. To put it bluntly, he is lying. And he is smart enough to know he is lying.

Actually, I don't particularly fear Newt. I do fear the people who believe this crap -- they are the stuff brownshirts and Hitler Youth are made of.

AN OPEN LETTER TO
PRESIDENT OBAMA

Dear President Obama:

You are the thirteenth President under whom I have lived and unlike
any of the others, you truly scare me.

You scare me because after months of exposure, I know nothing about you.

You scare me because I do not know how you paid for your expensive
Ivy League education and your upscale lifestyle and housing with no
visible signs of support.

You scare me because you did not spend the formative years of youth
growing up in America and culturally you are not an American.

You scare me because you have never run a company or met a payroll.

You scare me because you have never had military experience, thus
don't understand it at its core.

You scare me because you lack humility and 'class', always blaming others.

You scare me because for over half your life you have aligned
yourself with radical extremists who hate America and you refuse to
publicly denounce these radicals who wish to see America fail..

You scare me because you are a cheerleader for the 'blame America '
crowd and deliver this message abroad.

You scare me because you want to change America to a European style
country where the government sector dominates instead of the private sector.

You scare me because you want to replace our health care system
with a government controlled one.

You scare me because you prefer 'wind mills' to responsibly
capitalizing on our own vast oil, coal and shale reserves.

You scare me because you want to kill the American capitalist goose
that lays the golden egg which provides the highest standard of
living in the world.

You scare me because you have begun to use 'extortion' tactics
against certain banks and corporations.

You scare me because your own political party shrinks from
challenging you on your wild and irresponsible spending proposals.

You scare me because you will not openly listen to or even consider
opposing points of view from intelligent people.

You scare me because you falsely believe that you are both
omnipotent and omniscient.

You scare me because the media gives you a free pass on everything
you do.

You scare me because you demonize and want to silence the
Limbaugh's, Hannity's, O'Reillys and Becks who offer opposing,
conservative points of view.

You scare me because you prefer controlling over governing.

Finally, you scare me because if you serve a second term I will
probably not feel safe in writing a similar letter in 8 years.

This letter was sent to the NY Times but they never acknowledged it.
Big surprise. Since it hit the internet, however, it has had over
500,000 hits. Keep it going. All that is necessary for evil to succeed
is that good men do nothing. It's happening right now.*
