Navydads Political Talk Rules and Guidelines

1. Whether Republican or Democrat we are all on the same team - The Navy's
2. Name calling or threats to any member because of their political stance will not be tolerated
3. Respect each others political views and debate them in a civil manner
4. Only a healthy debate will be allowed on this site
5. With the rules in place please feel free to join in on the debate

John and Luis have set a wonderful example of how we should debate things in a civil manner. I just want to be up front with everyone who participates in this discussion that I will not let this get out of hand. I want to warn everyone that this site is here to benefit us with our children's journey through the Navy not to slam each others political beliefs.

That being said I do understand that the next commander in chief will be relevant to us Navy parents. I encourage healthy debates when it comes to politics. It's what makes this country so great. We can have our own beliefs and we get to vote for whom we want in office. All I ask is for everyone to debate in a healthy manner not in a negative manner. Express your views and let others express theirs. I do not want this to be a negative response to this candidate or a negative response to that candidate. We all know that political talks can quickly become shouting matches and this is not the site for it.

Whichever candidate wins this election will be the one that we need to stand behind and support because this person will be our children's commander in chief. In the military it doesn't come down to whether you are a Republican or Democrat. In a time of war it comes down to protect your brothers in arms no matter what branch of military they are in or what their political, religious beliefs are. Navy, Marines, Airforce, Army and Coast Guard when it comes down to it will fight side by side to defend this great country's freedoms no matter where they come from.

Sincerely, Navydads Creator

Hey Pat,

Yup, sure is quiet... I suppose you could say that I'm simply so disgusted with the choices I have that railing about is is as futile as shoveling against the tide.

Take my rep; Jim Himes [D] CT-04. a few days aho he posted his big $1.2M HUD pork harvest for the city of Bridgeport; one of the poorest in the state, and the worst in Fairfield county. It's a vote buy -- nothing more, nothing less.

Then we've got Linda McMahon [R] of WWE fame facing off against wacky Attorney General Dick Blumenthal [D] -- the man that sues the very state that pays his salary, competing for Chris Dodd's seat. Dodd is the Banking Comission co-chair that is fleeing the sinking ship. Oh BTW McMahon gave $30K to the Obama campaign, and Dick supported "Shrillary"... Yeah CT is freaking deep blue.

So I'm just too disgusted to rant. I can't speak for the others in the forum.

It is about time they have a good house cleaning of the old gaurd Republicans in the party and let TRUE Conservatives change things. Our RINO Senator McCain had no real threat to his seat in the Senate but he spent 21 million dollars to fight off the outcry from the Tea Party groups to replace him with a real conservative. They just could not find one to run against him. What scares me is why would someone spend that much money for a job that only pays $165,000 a year. Sounds fishy to me. Funny how the old gaurd Republicans are throwing the new nominees under the bus instead of getting behind them and trying to get them elected. Who needs a second party bashing these candidates when their own party is doing a better job of it. I say it is a great day when we can get rid of the liberal minded Republicans and begin downsizing this bohemoth of a Government. To much Government interference and not enough Free market.
Case in point, our local city Government just sent us our new trash cans and told us how they are taking over the trash collection for our benefit. We had 6 companys trying to out bid each other before the City took over and the average rate was $11 a month with two pick ups a week plus recycle can. Now the city is using the same company I used before they told me I had to use there service at a cost of $17 a month with one pick up a week plus recycle can. And I must bag all yard clippings for the new service. So the Government is helping me by charging me more money, to a company I already had a contract with, for less service and adding work to my already busy work load . Thanks Government but No Thanks, just the same.

The Police DO care !
Police Chiefs report that,"We get irritated when people come down on our police officers, saying that they don't 'care' ".
Well, here's a story that shows not all cops fall into that category.
The Joplin, MO, Police Department reported finding a man's body last Saturday in the Spring River near the Empire Electric Plant. The dead man's name would not be released until his family had been notified.
The victim apparently drowned due to excessive alcohol consumption while visiting "someone" in nearby Riverton, KS.
He was wearing black fishnet stockings, a red garter belt, a pink G-string, purple lipstick, and an Obama T-shirt.
The responding police officers removed the victim's Obama T-shirt to spare his family any unnecessary embarrassment.
Proof ! . . . The police DO care.
