Navydads Political Talk Rules and Guidelines

1. Whether Republican or Democrat we are all on the same team - The Navy's
2. Name calling or threats to any member because of their political stance will not be tolerated
3. Respect each others political views and debate them in a civil manner
4. Only a healthy debate will be allowed on this site
5. With the rules in place please feel free to join in on the debate

John and Luis have set a wonderful example of how we should debate things in a civil manner. I just want to be up front with everyone who participates in this discussion that I will not let this get out of hand. I want to warn everyone that this site is here to benefit us with our children's journey through the Navy not to slam each others political beliefs.

That being said I do understand that the next commander in chief will be relevant to us Navy parents. I encourage healthy debates when it comes to politics. It's what makes this country so great. We can have our own beliefs and we get to vote for whom we want in office. All I ask is for everyone to debate in a healthy manner not in a negative manner. Express your views and let others express theirs. I do not want this to be a negative response to this candidate or a negative response to that candidate. We all know that political talks can quickly become shouting matches and this is not the site for it.

Whichever candidate wins this election will be the one that we need to stand behind and support because this person will be our children's commander in chief. In the military it doesn't come down to whether you are a Republican or Democrat. In a time of war it comes down to protect your brothers in arms no matter what branch of military they are in or what their political, religious beliefs are. Navy, Marines, Airforce, Army and Coast Guard when it comes down to it will fight side by side to defend this great country's freedoms no matter where they come from.

Sincerely, Navydads Creator

The Haircut

One day a florist went to a barber for a haircut.

After the cut, he asked about his bill, and the barber replied,
'I
cannot accept money from you , I'm doing community service this
week.' The
florist was pleased and left the shop.

When the barber went to open his shop the next morning, there
was a
'thank you' card and a dozen roses waiting for him at his door.

Later, a cop comes in for a haircut, and when he tries to pay
his bill,
the barber again replied, 'I cannot accept money from you , I'm
doing
community service this week.' The cop was happy and left the shop.

The next morning when the barber went to open up, there was a
'thank
you' card and a dozen donuts waiting for him at his door.

Then a Congressman came in for a haircut, and when he went to
pay his
bill, the barber again replied, 'I can not accept money from you.
I'm doing
community service this week.' The Congressman was very happy and
left the
shop.

The next morning, when the barber went to open up, there were a
dozen
Congressmen lined up waiting for a free haircut.

And that, my friends, illustrates the fundamental difference
between the
citizens of our country and the politicians who run it.

BOTH POLITICIANS AND DIAPERS NEED TO BE CHANGED OFTEN AND FOR THE
SAME
REASON!

The Socialist Party, USA, in 1956, chose to stop running candidates of its own, except on rare occasion. During the 1960's, we began to work in the Democratic Party.http://www.socialdemocratsusa.org/

Hey Mike,

It's interesting that there are > 1.3 million hits on Google that mention the story, but only to decry and complain about the alleged politics of the 70 odd names... --OR-- to insult those that were seeking to confirm the veracity of the headline. In other words a well planned "honey-trap".

Yet by doing several higher-complexity searches, I found less than a dozen comments from or by any of the 70 names that reject, deny, or in any way call the accusation anything other than mud-slinging. What is it they say about "the shoe that fits"? ;^)

So what we *really* have in the headline is a known as a tar-pit. I didn't comment on Cora's post when I was it half an hour ago. I saw Delauro's (CT-03) name and thought to my self: "This is news???"

The "honey" (apparent truth) is the lure, and the intent is simply to dirty anyone that actually falls for the bait. There has been *nothing* done to deny the basic premise of the trap. Would the DSA have named those 70? Yup, probably. Why? Because those 70 fit the mold of the Socialist Ideal, by deed and action and intent even if not by *current* association.

Does the association surprise? No, because the headline was a claim by the association, not an admission by those claimed. But given the persistence of the rumor, only 12 denials is telling.

Here is the common ground along with hope and change that some of you love so much .
Seeing is believing, diversity is for every one except the victims of the attack, even ole Harry Reid has spoken out against the place of building the mosque.

You people will believe anything that's too good to check, won't you?
Socialist Party of America ceased to exist, expired, became an ex-party in 1973.

The Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) Fall 2009 (NOT October 2009) newsletter mentions the word Congress 11 times, none of which is associated with a list of 70 members.

You didn't find it strange that 1/3 of the Democratic Caucus, politicians who presumably want to be re-elected, identified openly as socialists? Either you are incredibly gullible, or the story was just too good to check because it matched your viewpoint.

You are right Mike that this is a free nation, a republic governed by laws not majority rule. However if the Muslims were truly about peace they would abandon their plans for a mosque at ground zero. From local goverment to the President,we have shown how free this nation is by allowing this mosque to be built, it is time for the muslims to do the right thing and not build it.

Naval Institute Proceedings has recently published stories on the ASBM. Until John Chinaman can find Ohio-class SSGNs, I'm not too worried. 154 Tomahawks can ruin your day.

I inadvertantly stopped following this area, so I'm a little behind. I'll just say about the idea of forcing muslims to show sincerity by removing headwear would also be directed at Jews, who also see covering the head as respect to G-d. Of course those who incorrectly believe that this is a Christian nation, not a free nation with a Christian majority, wouldn't give a [hoot] about this.

With all the things that are wrong with our country this is a breath of fresh air ! no matter how what you think of this family they still have some class. I didn't agree with all of his policies, So did you see this on the media ? if it was there, i must have missed it .
I guess Barry has better things to do with his time, Golf another vacation, securing the border ?
