Navydads Political Talk Rules and Guidelines

1. Whether Republican or Democrat we are all on the same team - The Navy's
2. Name calling or threats to any member because of their political stance will not be tolerated
3. Respect each others political views and debate them in a civil manner
4. Only a healthy debate will be allowed on this site
5. With the rules in place please feel free to join in on the debate

John and Luis have set a wonderful example of how we should debate things in a civil manner. I just want to be up front with everyone who participates in this discussion that I will not let this get out of hand. I want to warn everyone that this site is here to benefit us with our children's journey through the Navy not to slam each others political beliefs.

That being said I do understand that the next commander in chief will be relevant to us Navy parents. I encourage healthy debates when it comes to politics. It's what makes this country so great. We can have our own beliefs and we get to vote for whom we want in office. All I ask is for everyone to debate in a healthy manner not in a negative manner. Express your views and let others express theirs. I do not want this to be a negative response to this candidate or a negative response to that candidate. We all know that political talks can quickly become shouting matches and this is not the site for it.

Whichever candidate wins this election will be the one that we need to stand behind and support because this person will be our children's commander in chief. In the military it doesn't come down to whether you are a Republican or Democrat. In a time of war it comes down to protect your brothers in arms no matter what branch of military they are in or what their political, religious beliefs are. Navy, Marines, Airforce, Army and Coast Guard when it comes down to it will fight side by side to defend this great country's freedoms no matter where they come from.

Sincerely, Navydads Creator

Mexican Drug Cartel Allegedly Puts a Price on Arpaio's Head

On the day parts of Arizona's immigration law, SB 1070, went into effect, Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio is in the news for another reason: there's a price on his head - allegedly offered by a Mexican drug cartel.

He's been at the center of the discussions and controversies surrounding illegal immigration enforcement in Arizona for quite a while.

On the day parts of Arizona's immigration law, SB 1070, went into effect, Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio is in the news for another reason: there's a price on his head - allegedly offered by a Mexican drug cartel.

The audio message in Spanish is a bit garbled, but the text is clear.

"It's offering a million dollars for Sheriff Joe Arpaio's head and offering a thousand dollars for anyone who wants to join the Mexican cartel."

A man who wants to remain anonymous says his wife received the text message Tuesday evening. It also included an international phone number and instructions to pass the message along.

"She showed it to me..I was kind of disgusted..I reported it to the Sheriff's department yesterday..they said they were going to direct the threat squad on it."

Lisa Allen of the Sheriff's office says they believe the message originated in Mexico.

Although the Sheriff has received numerous death threats in the past, they believe this threat is credible because of its timing.

"Arpaio gets threats pretty routinely, but obviously with this heightened awareness of his role in the immigration issue we've got to take this one a little bit more seriously with a million dollar contract out on him," said Allen.

But she says what really concerns investigators is how quickly the message may have been spread. "It's going so many different places that our folks are looking at it and thinking well at any given point in time it could land in front of some crazy person who thinks I can do that."

As for Arpaio's reaction to the threat, "It's a little bit like water off a duck's back for him, but you never know if it's that sense of false bravado with him..you just can't read it, I'm sure he's concerned, I'm sure he's concerned for his family more than anything else," said Allen.

The Sheriff's office says investigators are trying to trace exactly where the text message came from, but because it did originate from an international number, that will be difficult too.

I wonder if this High Seas Segregation will be spread to other branches? Maybe my son should reconsider the Air Force as opposed to the Navy.

THE WASHINGTON TIMES
* EDITORIAL: High seas segregation

---

The latest national security leak is a shocking e-mail from a Navy admiral on "Diversity Accountability." The message, sent to a list of other flag officers, notes that "a change in focus of this year's diversity brief is the desire to identify our key performers (by name) and provide insight on each of them." Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Gary Roughead, who apparently originated this order, "is interested in who are the diverse officers with high potential and what is the plan for their career progression. He may ask what is being done within to ensure they are considered for key follow on billets within the Navy."

Please say this is a joke or an error or some long forgotten mistake.

I agree 100 percent Cora, my wife was from the phillipines, I know first hand about legal immigration and the road to citizinenship. and as far as bringing other family members here good luck, the waiting list is years long. So yes i am very disturbed when these people walk in and claim they have a right to be here

YEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

New AZ State Flag
A wonderful lady from Mississippi , sends Arizona her support on the 9-12 network...

"Hello fellow patriots in Arizona .

Although I am not in Arizona when I saw the new state flag I laughed with happiness because it seemed so apropos.

I want you to know that the rest of the USA is watching, applauding and sending emails and faxes and standing with you.

I was beginning to feel hopeless about our country then suddenly Arizona stands up for our country and our rights as a people.

What a thrill!

I watched and asked myself "will Arizona back down?" Much to my delight Arizona stood even straighter and said "we double dog dare you".

Your governor has steel in her spine and the man who wrote to California about the boycott and told him Arizona could cut off their electricity is our kind of patriot.

Now I know what kind of people are in the old west.

Hooray for Arizona .

We from the Magnolia State of Mississippi salute you!!"

Here's the new AZ flag she posted for us....

This is were are hard earned dollars go. I recently volunteered to sit on a downtown visioning comittee. The main benefit is i get to see our city administrator once a month and try to take the wind out of his sails.
At a recent meeting he is explaining how we can accomplish so many projects with a low cost to the city. If we pay for a 1/4 of a project from city funds the county state and Feds will pay for the rest, he goes on to explain how much money this saves the citizens, I have to remind him that he dipped into my pocket all 4 times. His reply is that Im not seeing it in the right perspective because many other people outside our community are helping to pay. My reply is they are at this moment saying the same thing some where else about our money. They just dont get it, all tax money is out of our pockets.
Visioning comittee? Vision this ,preserve and mantain what has worked in our business community since the 1930,s, we dont need condos ,walking trails, and multi million dollar bus routes. We need the ability for new businesses to start without the government taxing us, Im sorry they are fees not taxes, so much that we have no initiative to begin or even want to stay in business.
