Navydads Political Talk Rules and Guidelines

1. Whether Republican or Democrat we are all on the same team - The Navy's
2. Name calling or threats to any member because of their political stance will not be tolerated
3. Respect each others political views and debate them in a civil manner
4. Only a healthy debate will be allowed on this site
5. With the rules in place please feel free to join in on the debate

John and Luis have set a wonderful example of how we should debate things in a civil manner. I just want to be up front with everyone who participates in this discussion that I will not let this get out of hand. I want to warn everyone that this site is here to benefit us with our children's journey through the Navy not to slam each others political beliefs.

That being said I do understand that the next commander in chief will be relevant to us Navy parents. I encourage healthy debates when it comes to politics. It's what makes this country so great. We can have our own beliefs and we get to vote for whom we want in office. All I ask is for everyone to debate in a healthy manner not in a negative manner. Express your views and let others express theirs. I do not want this to be a negative response to this candidate or a negative response to that candidate. We all know that political talks can quickly become shouting matches and this is not the site for it.

Whichever candidate wins this election will be the one that we need to stand behind and support because this person will be our children's commander in chief. In the military it doesn't come down to whether you are a Republican or Democrat. In a time of war it comes down to protect your brothers in arms no matter what branch of military they are in or what their political, religious beliefs are. Navy, Marines, Airforce, Army and Coast Guard when it comes down to it will fight side by side to defend this great country's freedoms no matter where they come from.

Sincerely, Navydads Creator

Lies, damn lies, and the governor of Arizona

Apparently illegal immigrants aren't beheading people!

"The Arizona Guardian Web site checked with medical examiners in Arizona's border counties, and the coroners said they had never seen an immigration-related beheading. I called and e-mailed Brewer's press office requesting documentation of decapitation; no reply."

And most illegal's aren't carrying drugs, unless by "most" you mean less than 1% of them!

"Next, there's Brewer's claim that "the majority" of people immigrating illegally "are coming here and they're bringing drugs, and they're doing drop houses and they're extorting people and they're terrorizing the families. That is the truth." No, it isn't. The Border Patrol's Tucson Sector has apprehended more than 170,000 undocumented immigrants since Oct. 1, but only about 1,100 drug prosecutions have been filed in Arizona in that time."

If you want to convince me that your state has a problem, telling outright lies about people browner than yourself is not the way. There are real issues when it is so easy to sneak across the border, racist lies are completely unnecessary.

Speaking of racist liars, I give you Senator Vitter. He think's it's perfectly OK to investigate President Obama's citizenship, despite the Republican governor of Hawaii vouching for the birth certificate and every court case being summarily dismissed. The idea that there was some conspiracy in 1961 to preserve a biracial baby's political options doesn't bear any logical examination. There can only be one reason such lies continue to be propagated.

No lie can live forever.

Very alarming Pat, the one statement that grabbed me
“Having grown up in a declining empire, I do not recommend it,” Ferguson said. “It’s not a lot of fun, actually, decline. To be more serious, a world in which the United States is no longer predominate is not likely to be a better world, actually.”

New Rules for Employment SICKNESS AND RELATED LEAVE: We will no longer accept a doctor statement as proof of sickness. If you are able to go to the doctor, you are able to come to work.

SURGERY: Operations are now banned. As long as you are an employee here, you need all your organs. You should not consider removing anything. We hired you intact. To have something removed constitutes a breach of employment.

BEREAVEMENT LEAVE: This is no excuse for missing work. There is nothing you can do for dead friends, Relatives or coworkers. Every effort should be made to have non-employees attend to the arrangements. In rare cases, where employee involvement is necessary, the funeral should be scheduled in the late afternoon. We will be glad to allow you to work through your lunch hour and subsequently leave one hour early, provided your share of the work is done enough.

YOUR OWN DEATH: This will be accepted as an excuse. However, we require at least two weeks notice as it is your duty to train your own replacement.

RESTROOM USE: Entirely too much time is being spent in the restroom. In the future, we will follow the practice of going in alphabetical order. For instance, all employees whose names begin with ''''''''''''''''A'''''''''''''''' will go from 8:00 to 8:10, employees whose names begin with ''''''''''''''''B'''''''''''''''' will go from 8:10 to 8:20 and so on. If you''''''''''''''''re unable to go at your allotted time, it will be necessary to wait until the next day when your turn comes again. In extreme emergencies employees may swap their time with a coworker. Both employees'''''''''''''''' supervisors in writing must approve this exchange. In addition, there is now a strict 3-minute time limit in the stalls. At the end of three minutes, an alarm will sound, the toilet paper roll will retract, and the stall door will open.

PAYCHECK GUIDE: The following helpful guide has been prepared to help our employees better understand their paychecks:

Item Amount Gross pay $1,222.02 Income tax $244.40 Outgo tax $45.21 State tax $11.61 Interstate tax $61.10 County tax $6.11 City tax $12.22 Rural tax $4.44 Back tax $1.11 Front tax $1.16 Side tax $1.61 Up tax $1.08 Down tax $1.14 Tic-Tacs $1.98 Thumbtacks $3.93 Carpet tacks $0.98 Stadium tax $0.69 Flat tax $8.32 Surtax $2.23 Ma''''''''''''''''am tax $1.23 Corporate tax $2.60 Parking fee $5.00 F.I.C.A. $81.88 T.G.I.F. Thank you for your loyalty to our company. We are here to provide a positive employment experience. Therefore, all questions, comments, concerns, complaints, frustrations, irritations, aggravations, insinuations, allegations, accusations, contemplations, consternations, or input should be directed elsewhere.

Have a nice week.

Norman Thomas' quote "The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism, but under the name of liberalism they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program until one day America will be a socialist nation without ever knowing how it happened."

Mike, base pay increases are 1.4 percent required by law. That is short of the inflation index. I really like the 13,500 less Sailors but we add 20,000 people to the aquisition work force. Good way to lower those unemployment numbers

For anyone who is interested in the actual numbers, look at Figure 1-1 in the FY2011 defense budget summary you will see increases of 3% in both FY10 and FY11 budgets. Given inflation is 2-2.5 % range, this does not qualify as cuts in any respect. You may or may not like how priorities have shifted in spending the money but there is still more money being thrown at the pentagon under this administration.

What exactly are the troops lacking for?

I'll choose data over anecdote any time.

I thought this might be the best place to post this With all the hype with stimulus I do believe that The U.S. military creates more jobs and stimulates the economy more than any other BS project this current adminstration has came up with. there are citys that thrive off the presence of our military, not just the money spent by our sons and daughters that serve but our travels to see our loved ones. The typical American public has no idea anymore what a well funded military means to this nation. Do you really want to stimulate the economy President Obama? give our sons and daughters the equipment that they need to preserve the freedom that we enjoy.

GM (Government Motors) is proud to introduce the car of the future, the brand new 2011 Obummer.

This car runs on hot air, bull-shit and broken promises. It has three wheels that speed the vehicle through tight left turns.

It comes complete with two Tele Prompters programmed to help the occupants talk their way out of any violations.

It won’t get you to work, but hey, there aren’t any jobs anyway!
