Navydads Political Talk Rules and Guidelines
1. Whether Republican or Democrat we are all on the same team - The Navy's
2. Name calling or threats to any member because of their political stance will not be tolerated
3. Respect each others political views and debate them in a civil manner
4. Only a healthy debate will be allowed on this site
5. With the rules in place please feel free to join in on the debate
John and Luis have set a wonderful example of how we should debate things in a civil manner. I just want to be up front with everyone who participates in this discussion that I will not let this get out of hand. I want to warn everyone that this site is here to benefit us with our children's journey through the Navy not to slam each others political beliefs.
That being said I do understand that the next commander in chief will be relevant to us Navy parents. I encourage healthy debates when it comes to politics. It's what makes this country so great. We can have our own beliefs and we get to vote for whom we want in office. All I ask is for everyone to debate in a healthy manner not in a negative manner. Express your views and let others express theirs. I do not want this to be a negative response to this candidate or a negative response to that candidate. We all know that political talks can quickly become shouting matches and this is not the site for it.
Whichever candidate wins this election will be the one that we need to stand behind and support because this person will be our children's commander in chief. In the military it doesn't come down to whether you are a Republican or Democrat. In a time of war it comes down to protect your brothers in arms no matter what branch of military they are in or what their political, religious beliefs are. Navy, Marines, Airforce, Army and Coast Guard when it comes down to it will fight side by side to defend this great country's freedoms no matter where they come from.

It's a matter of treating a man with respect rather than taunting him. I don't think he was there begging, I think he was there making a point -- free speech and all that. And yes, taunting him is free speech, but I don't believe it is Christian speech, and the humorous "divorce settlement" below asserted that it would be the right, not the left, that would take the Judeo Christian values. I don't pretend to know what political position Jesus would take now, but I know for sure he would have treated that man with some respect.

Obviously the video was meant to be aired in some context to inflame the opposite side.
The problem is which side did what? So a man at a rally has Parkinson's... many people have it and worse illnesses to. Are we supposed to create an obligation on everyone just because a few contract a disease?
Life sucks, and then you die; that's the only universal truth.
Perhaps the videographer missed the part where the side yelling "no handouts" started flipping dollar bills at the (pardon my terminology) 'victim'. Perhaps that's not 'humble charity', it's better described as 'get out of my face charity', but beggars can't be choosers. Either way it's better than a State sponsored handout, which was ultimately derived from a seizure of another man's wealth.
If people are owed a debt because of services rendered or responsibilities assumed, they should be compensated. However, redistribution of wealth because someone happens to contract a disease sickens me! Maybe I should demand to be compensated for that woosie-sickness I'm feeling??? I would but I can't/won't; I've had a crippling injury for 5 years and my wife and I still pay more in taxes than most folks folks earn.
I love my country, but I hate what the Left is doing to it/has done to it. Honest folks better hope and pray that Obama and the Democrats lose this health care battle. Because if Presbo wins tomorrow, the date will be recorded in the history books, if there are any future generations around to care to read them.
